Does that mean the existing caches will be deactivated soon?

I made one trip there about 18 months ago and had a great time! I would love to go again. I see there are lots of new caches now available. If they are going to be deactivated, I will try to get down there before the event.

Unfortunately, my kids have 10/10 off from school. We are probably making a mini-vacation to Madeline Island for that long weekend so we will be unable to attend that weekend.

I got burned by Cheezehead’s Anquan Bolden who scored 3 touchdowns yesterday.

I had that player last year and he never scored more than 1!

I think the commissioner must have fixed something for that to happen! 😉

In this country, an uncommonly used term for an allergic flare associated with the new spring pollens (primarily trees) is vernal catarrh.

The names Autumnal and Vernal are based on the original Latin terms.

We’ve kept the name Autumn but more commonly call the season Fall. Vernal is still an english word meaning related to spring.

Congrats to you also with an impressive first week’s total yourself!

Sorry I missed chatting with you in Osceola on Saturday.

I am guessing spider bite (but not brown recluse).

There are lots of different species of spiders in Wisconsin. ALL of them are poisonous (but most of them have such soft mouth parts that they can’t penetrate human skin or don’t have enough venom to hurt a human).

There continues to be a big misconception about the frequency of brown recluses in Wisconsin. I’ve heard of lots of people who’ve been told they have had a brown recluse bite. However, this is the only bite that routinely has the center die off. Even though I’ve seen lots of bad spider bites, NONE of them have had the center die. I’ve read that the brown recluse spiders cannot survive the winters up here. Some of them do get imported in and reproduce through the summer months but the odds of running into one are slim.

I get to be the first one to declare Victory! Both me and my opponent (sorry Mosquito Magnets 😉 ) have no Monday night games so the outcome is already determined. 😀

I also have one of the highest point totals this week but I remember last year when I started out the first week with a bang and then fizzled. 🙄

I was able to get about 1/2 of the caches (as well as finding most of the non-event caches in the area I went in) during a half day there. The area is very scenic and I would echo zuma!’s recommendation to try to get up here this month during this fun event.

I hope to be back again soon to finish up the rest of the caches around this area.

I heard about this. Does anyone know if there are any benefits from it?

Also, does anyone know if google will continue to support Firefox (which is my primary browser) and whether the upcoming Internet Explorer 8 will immediately antiquate chrome?

Sorry for the mixup. Welcome to the League (and to the forums!). You will have a relatively easy matchup against me for your first week. 😉 I certainly didn’t mean to rile up the competition! 😀

@ Mathman, even though I am sure your intentions are honorable, 😉 I don’t think I can trust any advice you might give me. I’ll just have to see how my players do the first week.

I can see my team. The autodraft seemed to go on without a hitch. However, I don’t know anything about any of my players (with nobody from the teams I usually watch) so this will be interesing.

Who is the Mosquito guy I get to play against the first week?

I’m probably as ready as I can be for the season to start! 😀

I can’t see what my team looks like yet (not that it will make much difference!). Thanks for keeping this going!

The event looks great! Ladysmith has been on my list of places I have been planning on visiting as there are a fair number of caches there. I’ll probably be making a trip or two to the area soon!

As a casual player who only wants to have fun, I am happy to have an autodraft. I learned a lot last year and hope to do better this year. However, my real life job is too busy to have to put some serious time and effort towards calculating a draft order. Moreover, the idea of hanging around all night to make dumb decisions (or getting penalized for not staying at my computer all night) does not appeal to me. Because I really don’t have any idea who to pick, I would only feel embarrassed by making poor decisions and having the more experienced players snicker at my choices. That is not my idea of fun.

I applaud Cheezehead’s steadfastness in sticking with his decision! 😀
