Nicely done. We’re just passed our two year milestone and have not completed either milestone. It was nice meeting you earlier this year!

Congrats! Let me know if you are up near my area again.

My favorite of this type of cache is Subterranian Home Sick Blues GC12W18 in northeastern WI.

I have caches at several ruins around northwestern WI but the one which gets the most raves seems to be Paint Mine Ruins GC12W18

Thanks for both the information and the location as I had only a vague idea where New Auburn was. 🙄 😳

I saw the post in the announcments thread. I would love to attend. However, if I cannot convince my wife that this is a valuable family activity, 🙄 we may not be able to attend. I’m just hoping to be able to convince my wife to let me do some caching to go over the 1000 milestone during our trip to New England starting next week.

If it was near water, the Northern Water Snake, Nerodia sipedon sipedon is probably correct. From my field guide, the important descriptors are “Dark markings wider than lighter spaces between them, the later usually less than 2.5 scales wide”. Good id Sloughfoot!

    Great pic BTW. 😀

With the definite stripes, I would guess that it is actually an Eastern King Snake. They don’t live this far north so I don’t have as much experience with them.

I’ve read that the Hognose snakes in Wisconsin don’t usually play dead. This has been my experience with them as they continue to attempt to bite you (nonvenomous) after you pick them up. They will also generally leave a few tiny teeth in your skin with the shallow bites they inflict.

Welcome! It’s good to have more cachers in NW Wisconsin! 😀

I found a weather radio at a cache which required a canoe trip to get. We left a $25 gift certificate to a local restaurant.

That time in August in Hayward sounds fun to me too. I have my in-laws visiting now so I can’t be gone this weekend 🙁 (even if I would like to be gone! 😉 ). Have a fun time!

Where are the details for this event listed? I can’t find them. Amery isn’t too far from me.

Congrats on the big number! I enjoyed meeting Seth in Stevens Point.

Hope you were Happy as a Clam! Without realizing it before I went out to find it, today I found the cache “Happy Clams” up near me where you crossed the 3K barrier. Congrats!

I’ve registered. Hopefully I can do better this year after I learned how the league works. 😀

Congrats! You’ve achieved a big milestone. I have only been able to get slightly more than half the pages done.

What do you plan to do for your next big goal?
