29488. I’d love to avoid more drunks in my ER in the wee hours of the morning.
My family will be attending. The Chamber of Commerce has donated $200 to support the event. Here is a link to their website and you can click on the geocaching event for more information.
Congrats! I hope the birth was an easy one and that everyone is healthy. 😀
Another event happening earlier the same day is a 5k run/walk in Grantsburg (~30 minutes north of St. Croix Falls). Cachers might want to run/walk this event before heading to the geocaching event.

I’ll try to attend the next meeting on Tuesday.
I’ve assisted with setting up the cache at Wild Rivers State Park. Wisconsin should consider an event like this.
I didn’t post anything when I saw it online again as I didn’t want to have their server overwhelmed again. It was seeing my updated numbers.
I agree with Groundspeak that this site is an asset to the geocaching community.
That’s a great site. My entire family loved visiting that center. I think it deserves an earthcache because of the topographical inversion that happened there. Another earthcache could be done in the same town about the hot springs.
If the weekend works out with my schedule, I would love to do this. Is the trail best ridden on a road bike or a mountain bike?
I have to attend a faculty development meeting in Madison that day. Because I’ll be in the “area”, I am planning on attending this event. I hope to meet other WGA members there. 😀
A nice blizzard is happening outside here. The National Weather Service has raised their estimate and it now telling us we will get between 8-15 inches of snow.
I suspect that rogheff doesn’t like Intel or Microsoft or any other near monopolies. 😉
While geocaching.com has been becoming more restrictive, I see the great majority of their initiatives as being in touch with an evolving hobby. They are addressing concerns from non-geocachers while keeping it fun for cachers. They appear to be tackling many issues in a proactive way. In my opinion, the monopoly of geocaching.com has been a significant benefit to the geocaching community while causing “harm” to very few cachers (like rogheff?). I agree with many of the other cachers who see NO reason to use a different site.
While I did not expect the WGA to actually pay the hosting costs, the board might be able to use its resources to find someone who could host the site on an underused server for significantly less money.
Thanks for the link. However, I only get the message “The page cannot be found”.

I was disappointed that Cornell University (my alma mater) didn’t make it past the opening round!
I’ve had a little difficulty getting a few caches near the St. Croix River approved but once I learned the process, subsequent approvals went well. Overall, I also think the reviewers are doing a good job.
I am down in Iowa and had mentioned I would be unable to attend. Who else came? Any highlights from the meeting?
As of this point, I should be able to attend the next meeting (and it also looks like I will be free on June 7th so I can give my powerpoint presentation “Introduction to Geocaching”). I can even bring my laptop along to show the slides next meeting.
