I was given some reward points at work to use for merchandise, and they had two hand held GPS’s, an unknown Garmin, and an eXplorist 600. I picked the eXplorist, and have been happy with it, other than having to send it in to Magellan twice.

For all the bad press they get, my experience with Magellan has been pretty good. The first time, some keys on my keypad didn’t work out of the box, and they immediately sent me a new unit, and the second time, I bricked it trying to update the firmware to the European version, and they fixed it with no problems, even though it was just out of warranty.

I would love to help. I am willing to beta test, help with coding (small level of expertise, but always looking for a reason to learn more), and basically anything else needed to spruce up the place a bit. 🙂

*edit* I realize this was my first post, but I have been lurking for awhile. I just took the winter off. I plan to be much more active now that spring is here, the kids are older, and am a little more knowledgeable. If my lack of participation in the past will keep me off the committee, I understand, and will try again at a later time.
