Ironically, it’s not really that hard of a cache … it’s about 50% timing, so that the coast is clea … or a bit of creativity (“oh no, I lost my contact in the grass”)

um….moving caches aren’t allowed on Groundspeak. 😆
I think we’re ok … the rules say it can’t “have a goal to move” … it might of moved, but I don’t think it was the goal.
I think the bigger problem is that now the cache is more than 100 miles away from the owner … so we’re over by 1.15 miles.
Maybe the owner needs to move 😕
What’s kind of ironic …
There’s a car ferry that docks in Milwaukee that crosses to Michigan.
And there’s a car ferry that docks in Ludington that crosses to Wisconsin.
But they’re not the same ship 😯@nohandsgps wrote:
I was wondering when Harrington Beach would open it’s sites. Do you know off hand if they can be booked yet?
Not sure call the park at 262-285-3015 … if you get Ranger Andrew Krueger, tell him EnergySaver sent you.
Don’t bother going by what Harrington’s website says (http://www.harringtonbeach.org) … as the site is “frozen in times” as of early January … they guy that did the site died … I’m taken over the site design for the park, but we’ve yet to gain access to the account ID and password to allow me access, we’re in contact with family members who are looking for the information.
If you want to think about next year … Harrington Beach State Park, is currently being built. Plans are for it to open next spring. Should have about 75 sites and a shower/bathroom building.
Since it’s under construction … I can’t say it will be good, but at least it will be new.
Plenty of caches in the park … 10 of them … search zip code 53004 and look for caches names starting with “Harrington: …”

I wanted to get in the WAP door too so I clicked on it, but… I don’t get it??? 🙁 I use a Palm so what is this for?
LDove … what others have neglected to make totally clear … use of WAP … in this case the website: wap.geocaching.com … requires that you PalmPilot is ABLE to surf the web. Not all PalmPilots can.
So IF your PalmPilot has wireless ability to connect to the internet (when your at a WIFI spot/location, as others have mentioned) … simply go to the website: WAP.GEOCACHING.COM … the rest will make sense at that point … it’s all about having a simple, non-graphical version of the geocaching website … thus the WAP instead of WWW.
There are other sites that works this way too … I believe WAP.GOOGLE.COM is one of them.
I’m planning an event that will include roasted pork and swimming 5 minutes after you eat ….
… is it ok to just called it: Pignic and Crampout ?????
I consider myself fairly unbiased, since I didn’t submit a logo idea and I could see any of the “top voted” logos as working well.
But purely from the “big picture” logic of all this discussion, this is my feedback …
(a) assuming that the cost is not a restraint, I say have a design firm come up with their own concept(s), as someone else suggested – then have some committee agree upon maybe the top 2 or 3 to bring to the general membership.
(b) but then also have the design firm suggest a “tweaked” version of the “g” logo.
(c) then have a revote with the best design firm designs and the pro version of the “g”.
… Normally I’d say “a vote is a vote”, but in this case it’s in the best interest of the WGA to not get all legal about having a re-vote. I’d feel different if the winner of the vote would be crying foul, but I don’t think we’d have that situation.

The caches at Harrington Beach are among scattered ruins of a now lost city.
Regarding my Harrington caches, while the whole area is ripe with historical ruins, of the 10 caches these would be the ones specifically of a ruins nature:
GC13K2H … the Bridge lets you view the ruins below you (very cool)
GC1AXT6 … only the final for this multi is by a ruins
GC13FWY … it’s a secret, can’t tell you what it is in advanceIn general the ruins are: ” … historical trail highlighting the history of the “Stonehaven” mining community once located in the park …”
I’ve never been a big fan of micros, but I can live with limiting how many I go after … we don’t tend to trade swag much any more, but it’s still fun to take a peek in there to see what’s in the box … sure many times it’s junk, but sometimes it’s something cool … kinda like being on a game show in the woods.
What I think is “sad” (within the low importance that a cache location has in the big picture of life), is when you find a a cache (typically a micro) after a long hike, that’s hidden under a rock or tied to a branch, when 50 to 100 feet away is a real cool tree, just asking to have something hidden in it. I just feel like the cool tree is “wasted”. I get over it right away, but my creative juices make me wish they had found that spot instead.
You are RIGHT … that the cache names are showing by they are not currently “linked” … I think some WGA human has to do that, and has not gotten to it yet.
BUT in the mean time … look in the left hand column of the WGA website … on the page you are currently viewing, in fact … way at the bottom is a box titled “Geocaching.com Search” … type the text name of the cache in there (such as: CSI > Espionage Investigation )
bad enough to get “DNF” on a cache … but now to get it on your emails too 😕
what if you teach him to find magnetic holders … you’d walk your dog through a parking lot and he’d alert on everyone’s hidden car key 😯
Congrats!
I think she knew when she found #1000 … as it was one of mine and she noted it … so stop picking on her or she might make the event hides too tricky 🙂
“LOSTMomof2” … do you actually use your Nuvi to find the caches … or just to navigate the car?
I have standard handheld GPSr also, so it’s a non-issue for me. But I don’t think I’d feel comfortable carrying a Nuvi in the woods … too fragile looking (especially with the antenna up) and not water-resistant. I could see MAYBE putting the Nuvi in a fanny pack with the antena down to read the text/hint/logs, but not actually approaching ground zero with it operational. But again I have a Palm Pilot also, so another non-issue.
