Hey, leave me out of this!

As others have said … averaging and multiple readings.
Also, read my article on placing your First Cache … http://wi-geocaching.com/article.html
Bunnies and Queen … you have good points … I think the last thing we want to do is scare people off … especially people hiding more caches for us to find 🙂
Actually, if you read the description for “Recommended Caches” it DOES include the phrase “New Caches” … so it would be ok to suggest your own new cache there.
I have to agree that it doesn’t make sense to announce new caches on the WGA, since the GC system already does a great job of announcing caches. At the same time, I can understand the excitment of a new cache. It might make sense to announce only a “super challenging” puzzling cache … to kinda throw the challenge in the ring … and in that case it could go on recommended caches, as others have stated. But just a regular cache or a multi-cache or an average mystery/puzzle should not be announce by the OWNER.
For the sake of those that tend to do this … don’t worry, your cache will be found … I placed one that got approved late last night, by the time I noticed it was approved, three people had found it already … and I live in “the sticks”, sort of. There are people out there doing nothing but looking for brand new caches … and the Premium member feature that automatically emails them of new caches, is getting the word out.
At the moment a specific item does not come to mind … but I just got to think there would be a potential for WGA to provide more assistance with Events held in Wisconsin that are NOT WGA officially sponsored. If we’re “all WGA” and I believe that ALL events bolster geocaching in our state, maybe there’s something the WGA can do to help to that end.
This is not a critizism of any lack of support in the past. It’s just the first “positive improvement” that comes to my mind.
Maybe someone else will latch on to this suggestion and throw out some examples.
If they are “reusable” things, the cost of shipping them around should be considered (so maybe a small “geocaching event” banner, for example); or if it’s something that is “given away” it should not be taking to the WGA budget (so maybe some little WGA stickers or something, again something easy to ship to the event chairperson).
I like Saturday better, mainly because of not having to get up as early for school/work the next day; plus church is an issue if a Sunday event starts in the morning. Sunday afternoon is ok, but then that leaves even less time for being perky come Monday. Thanks for asking, but do go with what your most comfortable with, I’m sure people will come either way.
Thumbs up here too for the Lock N’ Lock containers! I’ve not bought any yet. But came across one at a cache … hands down, the best plastic container I’ve seen so far for caches … with the exception of a plastic 1 gallon drywall compond container (but they’re a bit big for many hides).

Wow you must have a good job! I just drink Folgers.
I click on your Profile, then below you picture was a place to click for “Full Size”. You must be smaller when your in Iowa, because when I see you in Wisconsin you seem much bigger.

True! But only if your going the Plucker route, rather than CacheMate. Not sure it will be any easier for a non-techy. Maybe I’m wrong.
This website is the only one I can find showing screen shots of CacheMate, but I don’t think it goes far enough into detail for non-techies: http://www.mdgps.org/modules.php?name=cachemate
Or the Smittyware Cachemate Quick Start Guide (buy you need to be able to unzip the files): http://www.smittyware.com/contrib/

Oh no, that does “trash” have the advantage of this.
I’ve also noticed as the OWNER of the cache I don’t see the “hidden” ones on the normal cache listing screen (which makes sense), so the way to see the hidden ones is to go into the Waypoint mangement screen, which of course only the owner of the cache can do.
Also worth noting, if you are NOT logged in as a user, the Additional Waypoints disappear (just like the list coordinates for the cache do, which makes sense). BUT, if you log in as a non-Premium (non-paying) member (I have a 2nd account for events), you SEE the Waypoints on the screen, but they do NOT download if you click on the “download .loc file” choice on the cache page … plus as non-Premium the choice of “download .gpx file” goes away (which I assume it always did).
to “FuFu” … sorry for the long/detailed message, but in the long run I hope it shortens the “learning curve” for you and others. It’s important to note (as Grousetales indicated) that there are various TYPES of Additional Coordinates, ones that you can “hide” so only you and approvers can see them (your “secret” coordinates for mysteries and multis), and “published” coordinates for the world to see, which are TOTALLY OPTIONAL on your part (things like: “helpful parking coordinates”, or “where to enter the state park” or “POSTED steps of a multi or puzzle”. In my “example cache”, I showed the entrance to the park AND the various steps (park signs) that you have to visit, to get the missing clues to find the final location of the cache container. Also in my “example cache” there is one more waypoint that you can NOT see, the final location where the container is, that waypoint I marked as just for me and the approvers to see (in case I forget where I hid the darn thing, LOL).
to address “Grousetales” … I totally agree they’re a great idea, especially as you indicate, to “hide” coordinates that only the cache owner and approver can see. As you indicated this great for getting the cache approved, BUT ALSO I like being able to store all my “secret coordinates” on line … before this improvement if I need to know the coordinates of a stage of one of my mysteries or multi’s I had to dig through my pile of papers in my geo-drawer at home … NOW, I can just login as myself and view them right on the cache.
