But hey, it’s all about having fun … so called it what you want, we know what you mean.
One thing that makes me snicker (the sound, not the candy) … is how many people don’t say “geocaching” or “cache” correctly, even some that have been around a bit. It’s pronounced like “geocashing” or “cash” … NOT “geocatching” or “catch”. Again, say it how you want, but I just don’t see the T in the words … I think it’s a Wisconsin/German thing, but I’m both and I don’t do it.
… professionals
… geeks
… geo-athletes!
If you are not already, check out “Watcher” too … http://watcher.clayjar.com/
You feed your pocket query into it and you have a database of all the caches that you can sort and mark by various options (distance, difficulty, recent success/failure at finding, etc) … then you can click on any of the listings and open that cache listing on your computer.
I find it helpful for planning a days activity, since your doing it off the Internet, everything is faster and printing is cleaner (without no adds and logos).
Only two draw backs I’ve found:
(1) Printing is a little weird, you have to right click on the page you want to print, rather than there being a print button.
(2) If you print the pages, it does NOT include the decoding key, like a geocaching.com page does.
So how are you finding caches without a GPSr?
Side Note:
The “r” in GPSr stands for receiver.
Without the “r” you are planning on buying a very expensive satelite in the sky.
There you go … something new to know that will not matter. Thanks!
Just touching bases quickly, will be “occupied” for a while. She was pinned in the car the whole time, upside down and wet … she was in a shallow creek, down a 20 to 30 foot ravine in a wooded area off the side of a road. She’s 80.
They live in the town of Cedarburg and she was on her way to sell her flowers at a farmers market in West Bend. When she didn’t show up at 6am, others got worried. The sherrifs of Ozaukee and Washington County searched the whole 25 minute route all morning long, the Ozaukee deputy found her around 1pm.
She leaves the back of the truck open over night, when she has the load of flowers ready for the next morning (to keep them cool) … a stray cat had spent the night in the truck, she didn’t know it … the cat freaked when she was about a mile from her house, tried to jump out her driver’s side window, which was not open, and then jumped on her face and started scratching … then she swerved off the road.
Our prayers were heard all morning long … as she is very bruised up, but otherwise ok. But will be extermely sort for some time (unfortunately she was very arthritic to start with). Mainly concerned about my dad who is in his mid-80s and my mom helped him out a lot. Please have them in your prayers … her name is Laura, my dad is Andy.

I’m suprised you could see mushrooms as small as my head. Maybe you don’t need glasses after all.
Greetings and welcome!
Get yourself a GPSr and get rocking!I agree. The quickest way to get to know people is to attend some events … then you can place faces and personalities on “geo-names” … it’s easy after that.
Glad to see your coming to my event … but of course any geo event will work. I purposely kept my hide count somewhat low (18 hides), to allow people some time to “relax” and get to know each other and also enjoy what the city has to offer that day. I hope to get some time to chat with you.

Wear a pager and pull geocachers out of the ditch, when they reach a Milestone!
Beware … I’ve got a great idea for a Travel Bug now … where did my kids put the bag of plaster of paris. If you want to see the TB, you’ll have to come to my Oct. event or find it in the woods.

BTW how does one post a picture on a thread?
(1) You need to upload the picture somewhere. In my case I uploaded it to my WGA album space. It could be a photo upload to a geocache’s page or another source on the web.
(2) Then you simply include the full web address of the page (including http://) and it magically knows it’s a picture to link to.
Tami had some troubles figuring out how to upload a new image for their Profile Page.
So I helped her out, what do ya think?
http://wi-geocaching.com/photo_album2/00000271/ecoprofile.jpgTo those planning on attending … please try to log you “will attend” sooner than later (before October 10th would be helpful). While I am leaving the registration open until October 25th … I need to order the event buttons by October 10th, while I do plan on ordering many extra, life would be smoother if I have the majority of the count by the 10th. Thanks!

Bikes would be totally fine!
Actually would work well, you’d only need to leave them behind for the “final approach” on about 3 of the 18 caches. Pretty “low crime” in Port, but bring a bike lock just in case, unless you bikes are as worthless as mine.I don’t suppose you happened to take photos?
Did you make a good size rut in the ground?
Maybe I could hide a cache in it and call it something like the “Ditch Run 5000”! -
