Oh, wow! I like that line.
That would seem like geocaching bumper sticker material to me!
Something like:
A toy is just a toy … but when you have to find it, it’s a treasure. Experience Geocaching!Well!!!!!!!!!!!!
Greetings from the east (Ozaukee County)!
I like your geo name.
Enjoy geocaching and visit this website often .. it’s the best was to get to know people … that and going to the WGA picnic in August! You better be there, it’s less than an hour north of you.I think there is only a long way. At least legally.

That’s “wi-geocaching” not “wi-geocacing” … the H is missing. I know this is pretty obvious, unless of course you copy/paste the address for editing the spam words out.

Ok, so I was off 0.2 miles!
But I’m by the right nameless road “twigs” on my map software. Also … remember do NOT post a “Will Attend” on the event listing, you need to sign up via the WGA thingy. I say this because I got all excited thinking I would be first to register and didn’t read first … but I deleted my “Will Attend” within about 30 seconds of making it. But then I WAS first on the WGA thingy … well, if you don’t count Ken, who most likely activated the thingy.

I’ve emailed the people running this thing (sort of a side business they just started) … they are local geocachers in my area. However, they indicate this is NOT geocaching .. however, they DO recommend geocaching (including the website) on the back of the tour guide that customers get.
We chatted back and forth on a few emails. The assure me that they will never have a “tour” take someone to a geocache container … as we are both concerned what problems someone not understanding geocaching could cause if guided to a container (ie. moving the container to a new spot for the next finder, or taking a Travel Bug, for example).
For sure log it when you feel it’s not there, even if your going to try again.
If you “sort of tried” and feel you’re not done trying, then it’s optional. But if you do log a no find, make sure it indicates the “not sure” status, to avoid scaring others.
A tip … If you had a “no find”, you might want to add the cache to your “Watchlist” so you get an email when the owner posts an update and/or someones elses finds or doesn’t find it. I’ve also added caches to my “Watchlist” that I’ve not looked for yet but other have reported as missing … that way I know when the coast is clear and the cache is in business again.
While “Opossum” is most likely taking about Throw Away batteries, and you problem was with Rechargable batteries … he could still be on to something.
IF all the Rechargables are about the same age, maybe they are just all wearing out. However, if doing the RESET fixed the problem, then of course it’s not a battery issue.
Be aware that typically GOOD rechargables will show less voltage (about 1.2v) than Throw Away batteres (at about 1.5v).
JR, don’t beat yourself up.
It happens. While we did find it first time out, I almost gave up and then one of my kids found it … my 13 year old who no longer wants to hold the GPSr … she just asks how close we are, when I say 150′, she runs ahead and tries to find the spot without the GPSr, shes good! It’s in one of those places where it’s kind of an uncomfortable place to be, which are usually the ones that are harder to find, especially during the the prickley, hot, sticky, buggy time of the year that it is now.

Trudy sitting in the whirlpool at the Holiday Inn? Hey, if we did that maybe Holiday Inn would underwrite part of the cost of the coins!
Or would this be a bit much for a coin? … Coin Image Suggestion

All the things that others have stated (so yes, trackable), but also …
Pride and Involvement in the WGA.
I think what I mean is that a big part of geocaching in general is TBs and trackable GeoCoins. Just seems to me that if we as a group are trying to represent the Wisconsin Geocachers, and I think we do, we are missing something (based on how big we are already) if we don’t have our own Wisconsin coin.NOT having one is comparable to:
* A hospital not having a first aid kit for their employees.
* The kitchen staff of McDonald’s ordering a pizza delivery from Pizza Hut.
* Walmart’s accounting staff buying their office supplies from Office Max.
* Or Trudy sleeping in a canvas tent.
Point is somethings are just wrong!
Right?[This message has been edited by EnergySaver (edited 06-28-2005).]
#1 … stop climbing trees, it will not help
#2 … I will email you to see if I can provide more assistance. (But sorry, not available to seek the cache with you, which I’ve found already).

I too think this is a great idea.
I would think that especially a good sized “first release” pre-order would be a big thing. I think many people would by multiple coins. Seems like a win-win to me … big demand in the begining, helps spread the setup cost, then smaller but steady demand after that.A suggestion … there must be people out there geocaching that have not joined the WGA … BUT, if you created a new “Spread the Word” scrolling banner or WGA logo with link for inclusision on geocaching pages, that ALSO mentions something like “New! Order your own Wisconsin Geocaching Coins.” … I think it would help sell more of them AND draw more people into the WGA Pages and joining the WGA.

This is another map, that shows the area better … http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/land/Forestry/StateForests/kmnumap.pdf
