    Ok, but hurry.
I’m sitting in my office, eating shrimp … waiting with baited breath.

    Hi Beast!

    What’s the status of this?
I’m ready to order my Pepto!

Depends a bit on the person and the weather.
If the person likes long hikes and the bugs/rain are not in the way, go harder. If the opposites are true, go easier. If you have a limited period of time, take them to ones you know you can find (ones you’ve visited already or your own); to guarantee a successful outing … even you have half a day and many caches, that’s not as much of a concern. From past experience … avoid multi’s that you’ve not done yourself … we had what we thought would be a simple 2 step multi, end up being a 5 step multi that took 3 hours, including about 3 miles of driving.

Thanks … they do look cool, and we’ll make that trip another time. I’m hoping for something a bit closer. Unless someone throws in other ideas, we’re thinking about these that are about 25 mi. closer:

    Goosey Lucy GCBF43
    and
    Down Under GCH5WJ

A recent finder seems to recommend Goosey at night. And Down Under I’m just going from gut instinct on.

Feel free to post other night cache, even after our current “urgency”, since I’m thinking we’re to get the night itch again.

in reply to: Ammo Box’s? #1748397

Darn, there was a big sale at Fleet Farm (at least in West Bend, WI) that ended 1/30/05, they had them for $2.99 (regular $4.99).

I’ve also picked up various handy containers at http://www.armysurpluswarehouse.com … I just got one of their “French First Aid Boxes” … http://www.armysurpluswarehouse.com/itemDetail.cfm?product=French%20First%20aid%20box&item=797 … nice container, about 2/3 the size of an ammox box, but yet nice rubber seals and clamps down tight … even has the instructions inside the lid in French for using the thing.

Edited reply … originally replied with a possible answer, but since have figured out that it’s not accurate … so rather than deleting my reply (and adding to the mystery), I just changed it to contain this useless disclaimer … darn, I was having a pretty wiz bang of a day until now.

All I ask is two things …

    (1) NOT “all you can eat” cabage rolls.

    (2) And DO include this Attribute on the event listing: http://www.geocaching.com/images/attributes/restrooms-yes.gif

in reply to: My Prediction for 2005 – Watch out for JJJTBA #1737768

They’ve got a good start at it now … 55 caches in their first month … still a bit low for my prediction, that would put them on target for ONLY 660 in a year. But then again, it’s winter; I’m sure they’ll kick it into high gear soon.

Come on JJJTBA … you can prove me right! Let’s see maybe some kind of incentive … If you make 1000 by 12/31/05, I’ll plant a new cache and name it after you.

Some one might need to remind me, since I’m feeling like 43 going on The Beast right now.

Without check first with the other 3/4ths of our team … I’d have to say it sounds interesting to us … but that would depend on how early in the morning it will start … not sure how early I can get the kids up on a Saturday for a 45 min drive. I say … if you do it, they will come.

there’s actually a couple fairly good jokes on the page listing now … view them on GCMGP2

    Dittos here.

As to the current board … thank you for all you do, I’m sure much more happens behind the scenes than we can understand.

As to the unknown board to come … thank you for stepping forward, to me it means you really care about geocaching, Wisconsin and this big family of geo-buddies. If I wasn’t German, I’d hug you all.

Interesting … one of my daughter’s home-made TB “creatures”, “CCNA – Black-Capped Chicka-Bee”, has just recently landed in Italy too … she’s very excited … http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=5613454a-fa57-4ad6-a7c2-33ccb51d4bca

in reply to: Winter friendly caching #1748347

Regarding caches I’ve FOUND, not many are jumping out to me right now … I have a lot of favorites, but most are near the ground (or part of them is on a series) … so I’d have to say:

    – Lakeside TB Hotel (GCHN4Z) in Grafton (I think the owner is no longer around, but the cache is there and fun and challenging and most likely doable in snow, but I’d stay away during icy times). REVISED: this is a tricky one (no matter what the weather), so if you don’t like spending a lot of time looking around in the cold, this might not be for you.
    – Test Tube Tree (GCKZXH) by EcoRangers in West bend (should not be too bad in this snow level, since this is about what we found it in).

Of MY hides (in Ozaukee County), all of them have snow ratings posted, but here would be the ones that should be no problem at all in the current conditions:

    – Port Puzzle (GCK6YC)*
    – Accidental Tourist (GCK9CG)
    – Cedar Creek Muddy Feet (GCKXFA)
    – Laughing Lion (GCMGP2)
    – Lion’s Launch Pad (GCMGPE)
    – One Thousand Watt Park (GCMMYC)

    * Especially Port Puzzle, it’s all in the city, only if the sidewalks are icy would I suggest staying away.
