Its a bit more complicated than Geocaching, You can look videos up on YouTube and when you first start it takes you thru a training. I and I’m sure anyone else who plays would be happy to help, just like the geocaching community. Its not hard even my kids play, I don’t want to give the impression that its a younger kids game though, I have met several players that are in there 60’s/retired.

The game is a Google based game, with the new game came some new communication tools like Google +, Google hangouts and Zello that could be quite useful in the geocaching community too.

    Never to old to learn!

Amazingly, no one has complained, but the LCG list is now up for Sept/Oct. The magic date for this period is August 30, 2012. Yes, that means that every cache was available for double points (except for those that were already found yesterday or today, of course.) Note that the new map has an additional feature. If you would like to see the county boundaries, just right click and select "Toggle Boundaries".

    Have fun!

I think itÒ€ℒs great that the new list was promptly out Ò€¦ Thanks!!

But now I cant Log a bunch of finds from August 31st and I found about 13 others that should not have made the Sept/Oct List.

We should have a 3 day buffer that both lists are available and all finds logged so the new list is more accurate.

    I am “New School”

Never used a GPSR, the only use I have seen for one is for the CHIRP option. Depending on the phone, accuracy is just as good as them fancy $600 Garmins (and yes I have compared). Usually just go out and wing it with Live Maps in C:GEO but if I plan on being in remote locations with poor data or I don’t feel like waiting for the maps to update I will create and load a PQ for the area I’m heading to. Have considered getting a GPSR as a backup but very low priority because my Maxx HD does just fine.
Works good in car, truck, scooter, bike, boat or walking.

    10. Lonely cache find/attempt/adoption reports must be submitted by the 3rd day of the next month. Any reports submitted for the previous month after the 3rd day will not be approved. Prompt logging of reports is encouraged so that the administrators can keep the scoreboard updated as much as possible. Heavy logging of reports at the months end may delay the results for the month.

    :lol2: Perfect, Love it!!

Thanks to Hitman4 for sparking this topic and bringing it back to life again πŸ˜› .

This should make it easier for admin to administrate now too.

    Thanks!!!

In these situation do have connectivity to browse the internet?

Sometimes on public networks you must agree to terms and conditions to use the network, the apps wont work till this is done. the terms and agreements page will usually pop up when you open up an internet bowser.

If you can browse the internet, I see no reason why the apps wouldn’t work.

    Thanks to Team DeeJay!!

May be planning a trip to get them all this month, let me know in anybody is interested πŸ˜† .

in reply to: Gamesmanship and beyond? #1969892

Another opportunity for “gamemanship” would be if you found it the same day another cacher found it, but you knew they didn’t play the LCG. Nobody would be any the wiser about who logged it when and there would only be 1 claim for it.

Nice one! need to add that to my play book πŸ˜†

Just to clarify – I’m not pointing fingers at anyone or accusing anyone of anything. I’m just trying to spur some discussion around some things that might need further definition now that there are lots more people involved in the game.

I think the rules are actually pretty well written but need to be:
    1.Read
    2.Followed
    3.Enforced

I held out for the “BIG ONE” 😯 http://www.nitecore.com/productDetail.aspx?id=75

1LB 3OZ fully loaded with rechargeable batteries.

    “Staggering” is an understatement

Can find night caches at high noon …… no problem!

in reply to: The Winnahs and Still Champions!!! #1966495

We still got 12 more hours to play!! I say lets wrap this year up with some more points, plenty of caches to still be found.

Congratulations HP2 on your efforts and well deserved champion title!

This was so much fun this year, I think IÒ€ℒm going to put more effort and time to play all year next year.
