Sure. I post my secret weapon on Facebook and now it’s showing up here. That does look pretty fun though. Maybe a new event????? I wonder how many of these we could find at the local thrift stores?

But, I don’t think that that is the code that Gotcha is talking in. Maybe he can come straight out an say what’s on his mind without the riddles.

I’m gonna assume this is meant for me…

There are no riddles or code and my question is simple as stated in my first post.

For those of you who log caches online without personally finding the physical container, what’s the appeal? A few theories have been put forward but no answers from those who do armchair logging or get signed in absentia. Why do you enjoy it?

    Just curious, that’s all.

And you actually thing that somebody that does this would actually read this forum and give you a logical answer …. That’s grasping at reality.

R&S … Some people live to have there knickers in a bunch, I think they like it that way.

    What’s a Puzzle Cache?

in reply to: Run N Search & Walkingadventure finish D/T Grid #1964252

Congrats!! And welcome to the club!!
Next challenge is to get them all filled with at least 2 finds for each spot, that way when somebody changes a D/T it won’t leave you with a hole. 😯

All I use and have use is my smart phone, I have used several and each being an android device running C:Geo, there are a few other apps to include the geocaching.com one, but I prefer cgeo. There may be some debate on the accuracy, but with over 2000 finds I have had no issues. I have also run my phone along with people running high end handheld GPS’s and the only advantage they may have is when in heavy overhead cover it may have better accuracy.
If you’re going to be in remote no data coverage area, you can download a pocket query and use off line maps and save your logs till you get into a data area again.
I haven’t found a reason yet to buy one other than I would rather lose my GPS in a lake or river instead of my phone.

Thanks again, I would seriously recommend doing this Where-I-go, it’s quite the adventure. Its not that hard, just need to be wiling to put in the time and miles. The final is the most adventurous part and makes for a very fitting end.

Thanks for the Congrats!! A special thanks goes out to Rattledbox for driving the Geo-Chariot on our Quest.

This last 1000 went pretty quick with just over 4 months time and a 70 degree temperature difference.

A quest that will never be forgotten 😯

in reply to: Verfying a "Found It" #1958796

I think the best solution to this would be a trail cam. There awesome nowadays, they have no flash (infrared) picture and video. With no flash the cacher would have no idea they were being filmed, could catch somebody caching out of hours or something. The quality is pretty good too; you would certainly be able to identify a cacher’s identity, that is of course as long as we don’t have any masked criminal cachers out and about. And above all everything is time stamped, sometimes temperature stamped too.

I’m sure with a small investment you could save yourself a lot of time, a lot less headaches and get more sleep.

Now this is not fool proof as I had one out on one of my caches and it must have been muggled. I retrieved the camera and went to go view the contents of the SD card and found it had been loaded up with a bunch of porn 😳 ?? I would advise getting one that locks closed and cables locks to the hiding spot … maybe do a better job of hiding the camera than I did too.

    F1rebirds 😯

Thanks to all!! 😀 The expedition was certainly an adventure, highly recommended and certainly milestone worthy. I didn’t realize until tonight that this thread had been started, thanks MuggleB for the heads up.
