Congrats! You traveled the whole United States just to get your first 100–what are you going to do for the next!?!?
See you on the trails!Way to go! You’ve gotten way more use out of the GPSr than a stinking little tie!
As always our hats off to the beast for his precognition on the out come of visitors for breakfast.
Mrs. Traker cook??? hahahahahahaha
Only when she has to!We are not heading off to Cincinatti til the 21st…watch out for us then….
Take a look at that leader Board!! Lots of people closing in on the prize!!
In jumping back pages, we also use the ‘tree’ at the very top of the page. Sometimes we want to go back a page or two, but not to the ‘home’, so we just go to the top middle of the page and click on the page we want. So, for example, you’ll see Wisconsin Geocaching ASsociation `- Suggestion Box `- Website/Forum modification — for this one. Anything underlined is clickable and you go to that page.
Don’t feel discouraged–we loved that cache and frequently tell others about it. It’s a wonderful nighttime cache. I do agree that summer may be a little quiet because of mosquitoes and the like.
We have a fairly new cache in Racine–Ponder this Puzzle–that hasn’t had a visitor in over a month. For being new, we’re a little surprised. I think these things just have ups and downs.
The Mad City cachers are doing something like your suggestion next weekend. They are having a picnic on the 20th and to get there you have to find a microcache first, there you will get the coordinates for the picnic. Maybe you can check it out.
We don’t think Socko expected the flurry of activity this caused. In speaking with him, he is still putting together the cache. We were promised a multi-cache that would be the hardest yet. We are eagerly anticipating another fun journey. We’ll keep you posted.
A week later and we are still trying to recover from our non-stop SOM hunting.
We would like to take a few moments and thank team Lotsacache; without them we may have never completed this series in such a short amount of time. They showed the heart of great cachers and they pushed us along. One hour is all that separated our teams on the final cache, but that could be said of many caches that we found just hours after they did. The ‘ifs’ are plentiful but there can be no mistaking that this series brought out a new and energized team. We look forward to meeting you and seeing more of you on the trails.
Thank you Lotsacache! Now we all know Socko, but what was he drinking the night he dreamed up this event?! The time and energy it took to not only place all of these caches but to make and maintain the caches was impressive. Thank you to Socko’s family for putting up with the chaos this type of event can cause. Socko has set us on a new course, a course that has given us a renewed energy for this great sport. We can only imagine what Socko is dreaming up next but we are sure that it can only get better.
Our hats off to Socko and his team for a job well done!!As a final thought, although the ‘competition’ may be over, EVERYONE should complete the SOM series.
There is something invigorating about so many caches in such new places.
We can only say that this whole experience has changed our State Of Mind.Thank you Socko!
Actually, already done! Once I looked at it, I realized this would take me no time at all to do. Better do it now while it’s dark and I’m at home–you never know what a nice day might do for getting me out caching tomorrow!!
Please let me know if you ever need typing skills again, I’d be happy to help.
Steph
Steph will happily do it!! Do you just want it in a MS Word format? You can have it by tomorrow (Wed.) night.
Well, we visited Baltimore this past weekend for a short vacation, and of course we had to do some caching. Doing two in the area allows us to add Maryland to our list. We have now reached 5 states and will be attempting another one or two by year’s end.
Thanks for showing us all the diversity of finds with our members. Interesting! -
