Okay…This is very important!!!
I was going to create a separate post for this but since you were so kind to list some of the attractions in the area…
is there a movie theater nearby??You all do realize that this is opening weekend of the last Star Wars movie don’t you??
I was nearly ready to cancel our trip up there…still thinking about it!!!
Riverbender does have trails to most of the points, but they are either narrow dirt walking trails or man made wood trails. There are alot of uneven spots on the wood trails so a stroller’s wheels probably would get caught alot. Also, parts of the dirt trails are very narrow and full of roots. It’s a beautiful park and both waypoints aren’t too far off those trails (but some bushwhacking is involved for the second point), but it may be difficult for a 2 yr old in a stroller.
Suggested it here.
Once again we will stay status quo.
Definition of insanity: doing things the same way over and over and expecting diferent results.
Congrats on reaching 800! Not far before you’re into 4 digits!
Our thoughts are with his family.
A little over a year ago we camped in the Wausau area with some friends who were newbies. We spent all day that Saturday caching in the Wausau/Stevens Point (even took a jaunt to the Point Brewery) area. Looking back at our finds, this is what I suggest:
GCB093 — The Forgotten War — neat virtual
GCFDB7 — Iverson Park Wet Foot 1 and 2 — this is the nice long walk in a nice park on mostly trails near a river
GC96CD — Hobo Cache — This was a really nice walk on trails that had historical signs throughout that really taught some great history (found this one after the May 04 geo-campout)We also found Whiting Park and Echo Dells Cache. Both were fairly traditional, but in nice areas and great if you just want a nice walk.
Since we haven’t been there in a while, not sure of the current maintenance, but people still are finding them recently.
Have fun!
Congrats!!
We are all sooo happy for you guys!!!
We also hope that Andrew will have better luck than dad at finding our caches!

On another note … It’s fine to leave behind a “Memorial Cache” from an event (when property managers will allow it), but I still don’t like the idea of a permant cache having hundreds of event logs listed on it; as it looks odd going forward in the future, as others find the cache after the event is history. If I’m seeking a regular cache, I hope to find log entries/comments that deal with the cache I will be finding, not some long gone event.
I could not agree more!!
We often use the history to tell us about the area and the cache…having 100’s of logs that have nothing to do with the “memorial cache” would be confusing.
Another 2 cent.
The second cache is ONLY for Temps!!
Permanent ones are to be logged on their own page. Note the links that are set up to the permanent cache pages.
Congrats! You’re really making your mark…racking up hundreds of finds in just a short time & recently placing some creative and very difficult caches! Keep ’em coming.
That would be a great idea!!
Thanks for helping out!
For a cache that no longer exists…”And Bingo is the Namo” GCHR67.
It was a great cache but was in an area that got VERY wet!!
Oh, Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave! You do have such difficulty with our caches! I guess you just need to have your 5-year-old with you to show you just how easy caching is!

Welcome to our geocaching community!
We are in your area and would love to meet and cache, if you’re interested. Feel free to e-mail us through our profile on the geocaching site! Also, our Racine caches “Pond”er this Puzzle, Twin Towering Trees, and A River Runs Through It would give you examples of three different types of caches to try your new skills at.
Looking forward to meeting you on the trails.
Recently visited New Orleans for the Mardi Gras Marathon and picked up 2 more states…
Please add LA and MS to our count.
