Got it downloaded and running. Managed to get the waypoints I’ve accumulated over 4 years out of my Summit and into the program! That alone feels pretty good.
I saved them as Summit and was able to go into the program and find the folder, but Streets and Trips doesn’t recognize the file- it seems.
I didn’t mean to hijack the thread, will play around with this some more when I feel like sitting in front of the screen. We’re off to find a few caches this morning.
Also looked up the seminar and see it’s in Appleton. Could work, but (sorry to say) I’d rather be biking/ kayaking around Penninsula than attending the seminar…
I’m like that.
Update: played around while the kids were getting ready and I figured it out. I had over 150 waypoints from over 4 years in the Summit. How cool to see them splashed all over the map and try to remember when I was there and what they all are.

Hmmmm,
That might work. We have reservations for a weekend of camping at Penninsula. But did I read that this is near Green Bay? Could work that in perhaps. It’s not like I’m putting all the waypoints in by hand- I’m not crazy!
…I taught the kids to do it.
Thanks for this thread in any case. I googled up GSAK and Easy GPS and am about to try downloading ’em. Had never seen Buxley’s either. I have MS Streets and Trips 2002- any chance that I can use that to “see” caches- or do you need 2005?
Thanks!

Nope, it isn’t- that is right out of the camera. It was hard to see in the little screen on the camera in the sunlight but when we got home I was quite happy with it.

Glad you like the photo. It’s not up on the Jeep site though, is it? I take it you saw it from the bug’s page?
We took that on Monday at Otter Lake campground in the Harrison Hills. There was one other couple sitting on a picnic table watching us. I told them “there is a good reason, it’s just too hard to explain” as I laid on my belly in the beach sand, while my son tried to steady a kayak tied to a toy jeep. Often the wind would move the kayak and the little jeep would do a wheelie, or get dragged back through the sand. We took over a dozen shots to get that one good one. I don’t know how they can tell, but the rules say you can’t crop, or adjust the brightness- photo is supposed to be right out of the camera. That one is, and I was surprised at how well it turned out.
We picked up the kayaks this spring. Other than my daughter, none of us had ever kayaked before. Took a chance at the Gander Mt. sale and bought four boats. Stuffed them in the back of the truck and hoped we’d done the right thing. Turns out to be the best thing we’ve purchased in a long time. We spent a lot of hours paddling this summer and enjoyed every minute. We’ll be thinking of some aqua-caches for next year, you bet.
