Good topic Marc! When I broke my leg in May, and realized I would have lots of reading time this summer, one of my good friends brought over what he thought would be the best therapeutic reading he could think of. He brought over 4 P.G. Woodhouse Bertie Wooster books, 3 Rex Stout Nero Wolfe books, Paul Theroux’s The Great Railway Bazaar, A collection of Sherlock Holmes mysteries, and the prize book of his collection, Ten Ever Lovin’ Blue “Eyed Years with Pogo (first edition). Despite the broken leg, I’ve had a great summer of reading. I am also looking forward to the release of the last Harry Potter book.
My hunch is that cachers who have hidden caches generally tend to write a more complete and descriptive log than someone who has not been on the receiving end of a cookie cutter log. I try to write a unique log for each find I have. This is a little more difficult after a power caching run though.
It really isn’t a weekend if I haven’t posted at least one milestone congratulations notice for the Bandits! Wow. Way to go.
Wow Justin, I’m running out of fingers trying to keep track of your finds! Keep having fun.
Congratulations to one of the nicest teams in geocacaching!
Way to go! It sure was good to meet you last weekend.
07/07/2007 at 12:13 am in reply to: Geocaching event at Mosquito Hill Nature Center (New London) #1876817It seems like the folks at the nature center are receptive to geocachers because of the way you’ve been representing the geocaching community. Very nice work in setting up the caches and classes. There are a lot of nice caches in New London. I look forward to finding these soon.
Trekkin & Birdin are essentially asking us to prove a negative. How is it possible to make a list of something that doesn’t occur? That’s my excuse and I’m sticking with it!
Congratulations on the 1 year anniversary Cheezehead. It only gets better and more fun and more addicting. You’ll soon find out, however, that the people involved in geocaching is what makes this activity better than any other sport/obsession.
Wow, I’m in awe of your caching prowess. You guys rock. Great to see you last weekend too.
Just as I had resigned myself to the reality that i wasn’t going to get a Jeep TB this year, it came in today’s mail. Woo Hoo! 😀
Wow!! Way to go Mike, new caches don’t stand a chance when you are on the job (or maybe off the job). I was thrilled to get 4 FTFs in one day a long time ago, but 15 and 5 in two days is incredible. What’s next?
My Jeep must have gotten lost or delayed in the mail, maybe it will come today?!
Having just spent time defending geocaching in front of the parks committee of Brown County, I sure am glad that there was not a cache like this one in one of the county parks that I had to explain to them. Also having just proven to myself just how easy it is to break bones falling from a mere 4 feet, I literally shuddered when I saw the picture of this cache. 😯 Maybe that’s just me though.
Hey Bob, Congrats on #900. I didn’t realize you were that close to a grand. More important than any milestone, is getting to know the nice people (like you) of the geocaching community. Once again, congratulations on the milestone.
