It is no wonder that people are afraid of crime and develop prejudicial attitudes toward certain groups of people. Politicians from all levels of government have been exploiting the fears of the people for years, claiming there are criminals/terrorists around every corner. As a result, the prison industry has become big business (lots of $$$ involved). Do a little research on what the country / state / cities spends on corrections.
I’m not denying the existance of crime, I’m saying that fears have been blown out of proportion by politicians so that they can be re-elected.
Thanks for the kind words everyone. I think that this was the first milestone that I’ve done with aa part of a really large group. It was made extra special having a lot of both old and new friends present.
Just this last Saturday Rsplash40 and I stopped at Ma & Pa’s BP station along the miracle mile in FonduLac to buy a couple of lottery tickets. As we were leaving we started to make loose plans about what we were going to spend our winnings on. I thought that if I won the jackpot, I would immediately buy a 40′ class A motor home and start cruising the country hunting the Cache Across America series. Splash thaought that was a pretty good idea.
After checking my tickets Saturday night, I found that i won $7. I spent $5 on tickets, leaving a profit of $2. The trip is now indefinitely postponed. 😥
Congratulations Kieth on 1900 finds. I especially enjoyed finding this one (and many others) with you! Onward to 2K.
The smiles in you log photos are great! Keep on having fun and accumulating milestones and memories.
Congratulations CJ! Aren’t milestones fun?
This is as fun as caching gets. Thanks J&L for organizing and suplying the hot chocalate afterwards. Where to next week?
Rsplash40 and I havek been conspiring to find a way to make it down south for this one. I’m hoping to make this #1800, and it would be fun to do it with a crowd!
Too easy, I found it on my 2nd try. It needs a feature so you can “hide it where it should go”.
Congrats to a very classy cacher!
The best memory, a five day trip to Geowoodstock in Tennessee with the Bald 2.5 team, finding caches in 9 states during the trip, including a FTF in Indiana. Also, any of the many caching adventures with my caching buddy ks9wi, and others who joined us occasionaly.
One of the best memories was the impromptu non-event at Berlin last month to do a wherigo. What a joy to see so many show up.
Happy new year everyone!
Nice milestone, congrats Brian!

More updates came out (again) last night for the Garmin Oregon series. I really like this update as the unit now shows the cache type icon on the list of closest caches along with the cache names….very cool.
Thanks for the alert to this update, it makes the Oregon just about perfect in my book.

I was wondering if anyone had tried making custom maps for their oregon? check out the info here, looks pretty amazing.
I still use a 60Cx & always switch between the two, having both on one would be very nice!
On the Oregon, youcan customize the data fields on the map screen. Ilike to use the “pointer” as one data field, and the “distance to end” on the other data field. The pointer works like a minii compass.
Merry Christmas to all my WGA friends!
