  • I use the same model as you, but I use MacCaching. With that, I need to do the GPX exchange which puts the cache into MacCaching. Then I can upload it to my GPSr. That’s about all I can tell you. I’m not computer literate at all. You might want to try posting in the “Help” thread if you don’t get much for replies here.

I’ve been to downtown Milwaukee 3 times in the last week and am just embarrassed about it. It’s all over the hillsides of the freeway near the on/off ramps, and even blowing down the streets around the Bradley Center. I don’t know why the house of correction isn’t out cleaning up these areas. Instead, they have the inmates in residential areas picking up garbage. For one, I sure don’t any inmates around my house getting any kind of ideas. And second, with so many out-of-towners that go into the downtown area, why wouldn’t you make that clean and attractive first? You know, the first impression thing. I just don’t get it.

Will global climate change make them extinct? I hope so.

If you are in the Hartford area, I would have to recommend The Mineshaft. A half block north of hwy. 60 on 83 (the main drag). We have been going there for almost 20 years, and have never had a bad experience there and never left with an empty stomach. I don’t think they take reservations but if you go on Friday nights for a fish fry, go early or you will have to put your name on the waiting list. In the past we’ve been told about an hour wait, but it turns out to be about fifteen minutes. And that is when they are packed. They also have a game room on the second floor. Street parking the front with additional public parking in the back.

Sorry. I don’t have any coordinates. I’ll try to remember to shoot some the next time we’re up there.

Here are coordinates for the Mineshaft and for parking, provided to me by Crockett3663.

    N 43 19.091/ W088 22.730 Front Door of The Mineshaft

Since parking on Main Street is very often an unsuccessful crap shoot, I’ve included some additional parking coordinates:

N 43 19.099/ W 088 22.675 Back Lot behind restaurant. There IS a rear entrance to The Mineshaft from this parking area.

N 43 19.125/ W 088 22.622 This is a gravel parking area a bit further away, but the abck entrance is still within reasonable walking distance.

N 43 19.102/ W 088 22.772 This is a paved parking area which is located BEHIND the businesses which are located ACROSS the street from The Mineshaft. The restaurant is still easily accessible via the Main Street Annex, an enclosed walkway with stairs AND a elevator for those with physical limitations.

The Mineshaft serves an entire menu of Italian, Mexican and American cuisine. They also boast one of the best Friday Night fish frys in all of Wisconsin. If you’re going morning caching, they also serve a full breakfast menu, with an exceptional Sunday Morning Breakfast Buffet.

I swear I saw a reptilian fish looking thing CRAWL from right to left. Walked on all 4’s across the bottom. Had a tail that was rounded. Not sure on the camera magnification but it was probably at least 8 – 12 inches long maybe even a bit bigger.

    Thoughts?

(I am not joking this time…)

I told you so. When I saw whatever it was, it was about half way up the screen in that area where it is a little more clearer than just a shadow.

    Salamander maybe???

    mudpuppy?

Maybe. I swear what I saw resembled more of a crawfish. However, it was bigger than any leaf I’ve seen drift past the camera. Judging be the size of the leaves in comparison to the size of the object that was at a farther distance, the thing had be like a lobster. I’ve seen some pretty big crawfish in this state, but nothing like that. I’m at a loss.

    Definately something to see here!

On our trips to Marshfield and Three Lakes we used to have to wake up the kids as we drove by. They would get real disappointed and some times mad if they didn’t get to see the dinosaur. We always wanted to stop but never did.

I have no idea what I just saw. It was kind of on the edge of the light/dark line in the back ground. It walked/crawled left to right. I thought perhaps a crawfish but it was bigger than the leaves that were drifting by.
