in reply to: Any suggestions for a pinched sciatic nerve? #1904099

I remember my dad having that problem on and off for a while. I remember that he couldn’t sit for very long or lay down for very long. He seemed to be most comfortable standing up.

I noticed one thing with my back, although it’s a different problem than you have, and that is I get less pain when I stand or sit if I’m squared up to something instead of twisting a bit. For example, I have a recliner that I like to sit in when I watch tv or read. The chair is in the corner of the room, only place it fits. I have a tendency to twist my body a little bit to face the tv. This gives me terrible pain. I feel less pain if I make a conscious effort to sit straight in the chair and just turn my head a little.

Unfortunately, I’m too dim witted to do this all the time. After a few days of doing this, when my back feels better, I go back to my old ways.

No guarantee, but a couple of good swift kicks to the shins with steel toes might take your mind off of the nerve. Although this will only be temporary, it might also give you some new problems to worry about. Other than that, I got nothing for you. Sorry.

I remember these from way back in grade school. Only difference was that we colored them instead of make them. I remember how amazing the individual results were. Once they were colored, you would see different things that other students saw that you didn’t.

I guess for me it depends on the situation.

If I pull into a parking lot and the cache is in close proximity to where somebody is watching, I may be stealthy or go back later. Say if something isn’t quite ordinary. For example, 2 or 3 guys sitting in a vehicle way back in the corner of the lot. Especially if the windows are up and there is a lot of smoke inside. Whenever I pull into a lot, one of the first things I do, especially if I’m alone, is scan all the vehicles as I go to park, for anything that strikes me as strange or unusual.

If it is around 11:00-1:00 and someone is eating or reading, I usually don’t pay anymore attention to them, other than keeping my guard up.

If there are a lot of muggles around, I will try to be stealthy. If two women are in a vehicle and are parked near a playground where little kids are playing, I try to do both. First, I want the “moms”(?) to see me so they don’t think that I am a threat to the kids. Second, kids are curious and depending on the type of cache, I might want to be stealthy so that the cache and its contents remain in place. When I leave, I will walk somewhat near the “mom’s” vehicle to give them an opportunity to question me if they want to.

I just try to use common sense about it.

Thanks cheeto. That took care of it. One of these days I might remember about GC’s forums. I’m too used to coming here all the time.

WTG BQ. On my current pace I should be hitting that mark in approximately 24 years.

WTG TBC. I’m hoping to hit that milestone myself sometime this year.
