Welcome to the WGA. It sounds like you are already having a good time.

Wherever I am when I make the find.

I call 4/15/09 with both of them caching together. The tie breaker will be who gets the FTF.

I’ll bring a nice bottle of Korbel to help warm everyone up.

It’s so cold that yesterday we had a walk in freezer installed so that we could have a warm room in the house.

When it comes to puzzle caches I don’t know what I think of them. Some of them I don’t mind solving. Others, I might as well just put on the old ignore list. I think to “hate” them is a bit strong. Maybe “extreme frustration” would be a better choice of vocabulary. I don’t mind doing some research to answer clues, but there are quite a few of them that may as well be written up as:
N xx yy.yyy Wyyy xx.xxx. The cache is not at the listed coordinates. Now go find it.
I know I have asked for help on puzzles before, but I really hate doing that. I feel as though I’m not putting any effort into it and it makes me look like some lazy dolt. And of course that’s when the frustration sets in.

“I have come up with a few different possibilities. Would you mind pointing me in the right direction?”

Ok, I see this or that, but what in God’s name am I supposed to do with this information?

“Hi, it’s me again. Now what do I do? Thanks.”

“One more question for you. How am I supposed to convert this into that? Thanks again.”

At this time, I’m sure I’m on this person’s ignor list.

BTW. If I have a puzzle on the ignor list, how can I get it back? I don’t even see where it went, I just know it’s there.

I wonder if he was triple dog dared?

There was no dare. He just decided to do it. It even happened in the same town in Indiana where Ralphy was from.

I remember back in the 90’s when we hit about -25. I did the boiling water thing in a good sized kettle and it worked with no problem. I only heard of boiling water, not cold water. So, I tried it with cold water, and the same thing happened.

I’m glad to hear that you aren’t going just to enjoy the warm weather. I believe as of next Tuesday the average temps start rising again.

Sounds like a blast. Unfortunately, I will have to bow out due to a trip to Europe later in the same year. I just hope that I am able to do a little caching there.

If we spent $100 on 20 different variaions, what did they look like? And to take it a step farther, why not have the membership take a vote from those 20? Just curious.

Welcome to the cult. It sounds like good advice from Team Deejay. If you are having any trouble on the easier ones, wait for a light snowfall (2-3) and follow the trail after someone else finds it. Sometimes you won’t even have to use your gps. 🙂 That’s my advice.

It turned out to be a rather nice morning to make this hike. But you never know about the weather and there’s no sense making a long drive on an iffy forecast. All three OPS team members enjoyed the hike (two of them made the trip for the first time). Birdin’ got us interested in another good snowshoe cache called Eagle Source. Have already started studying the aerial maps and reading the logs. There’s a good chance that we will make an attempt to find that one in the next few weeks. Perhaps we’ll post an attempt date for that one too and anyone else interested can join in.

Anyway, our kind of cache today. Even if we didn’t get a smiley. 🙂

That’s another cache I would like to hit some day. It is actually only a few miles from my mom’s cottage. Unfortunaely this time of year it’s sealed up. Esker in the Kettle GC10MGP might be a good snowshoeing cache. I did that one in the summer. I think Timberline Echoes did it in the winter.

Judging by the logs I have read, it sounds like I missed a good one. It is now 6 pm and I still haven’t seen any freezing rain. Somehow I knew this was going to happen. Glad to hear that everyone had a god time.

I wish I could help you out there, but don’t know anything about them. Sorry.
