I just got my invite. Thanks Cheezehead. Now I need to figure out why I can’t get registered with yahoo. Too tired to try again.

thanks…. maybe I’m just a bit nuts, and am remembering the numbers incorrectly.
Face it. You are a cacher. That alone makes you nuts. What noncacher chases tupperware using government satellites?
Great job! Way to go. Last time I ran that far was about 14 years ago. Don’t now haw fast though. Keep it up.

Ok, I have never done an earth cache and don’t know a thing about them.
But I have a question. There is a parcel of land owned by the WI DNR.
It’s a Demo Forest. About 120 acres. It’s divide into 3 or 4 sections It’s more or less the different types on managed forest. There is a hiking trail and info markers and such. My Grandfather helped “develop” the forest. (there is a stand of native white pines that for whatever reason was never logged during the logging boom) If I were to research this a little better, could I somehow make an Earthcache out of this? With a logging requirement being what the different type of forest there are or some other info?According to the response that I received, I would say no because it is not geological. Now if it were 10,000 years old and petrified, it might make it.
I would think the same people for placing a traditional cache. However, is it really necessary to seek permission in the nation forest. We don’t need permission to hunt, fish, etc in the national forests. I realize that national parks may be different.
Way to go! All kinds of accomplishments for you guys lately. Keep it up.
This is the reply I received from geoaware a couple of weeks ago:
Eric,
Our requirement is that the primary focus of an EarthCache be earth science. At present, this includes geological topics, but not environmental, ecological, biological, botanical, historical, cultural, etc.Does this answer your question sufficiently?
Geoaware
This response shot a hole through my idea, that’s for sure.
Looks as though it could be an Eastern Hognose snake. Don’t know for sure. If it is, they will try to threaten you by hissing, enlarging their body, and maybe even by making a hood appear at their neck. If all of this fails to scare you off, they will roll over and play dead. They will even remain limp if you pick them up.
Welcome to the cult. Have lots of fun.
I’m amazed with those who complete the Wisc. challenge (because I was unaware that other states have them). Somehow amazing doesn’t seem to be the right word here. Congratulations!!!!!
Well done T&B! Someday I hope to join all of those who came before me. I have really had the itch as of late to get out and work on the challenge, however, well let’s just say it’s the gas thing. I’m thinking 80’s, maybe 100 in the waders, mosquitoes, flooding (ebbing anyway?). I would say you certainly earned it.
Another place on your GC account page is on the right. You can click on “from your home coordinates”. Or what I normally do is click on the filter out finds if I want ones closer to home that I may have missed when they were published.
If you are talking about going on a caching hunt with someone, they are:
1.) Slash354
2.) Furfool-jr.
3.) Gr8EyesCaching with someone at an event after hooking up with them at said event:
1.) Ecorangers (Tami)
2.) BVcacher
3.) F-Trup
4.) ChevyVCaching with someone searching for a cache when they or I pull up to search for the same cache:
1.) Uncle_Fun
2.) Doctor Doolittle
3.) martythatsme
4.) CachelovskysWelcome to the cult Ken. Enjoy the caching. Don’t worry if you hear some chanting in here. We only do sacrifices once in a while. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Evryone in here is quite helpful.
Don’t know off hand. Maybe try a pocket querie.
