Funny, mine says the same thing.
Go to the state/county stats on the main menu (left side of this page). Then click on your name. Then look around for the Delorme challenge and click.
Northeast corner, if you will, of Lake Winnebago.
05/03/2008 at 8:45 pm in reply to: Discussion of not logging temps, starting with this event #1888613My family and I had a wonderful time at Wildcat Mountain last fall. It was our first WGA event, and only one to date. I personally fell in love with that part of the state. If it wasn’t for the event, we would have never had a reason to go out there. In all honesty, without the temps, we never would have bothered going out there.
A 7-8 hour round trip drive to an area just to drive around for another 30 miles to find ten caches doesn’t cut it for us. It is nice to be able to walk around for 3 hours to find 20 or 30 caches. You get to see so much more up close than you can while driving. I know of at least one person in here who has had an accident while caching.
The membership voted for this change, and I can live with that. The unfortunate thing is, we were looking forward to other WGA events, but will now have to reconsider. Especially with the price of gas. An event in a cache rich area close to home is one thing. A 3 or 4 hour drive to an area with more driving once you get there, I don’t think so. Have fun at the events. I will be patiently waiting for a WGA event to come to my part of the state. Of course there is the possibility of one near by when we are on vacation.@sweetlife wrote:

Then why log them if they are meaningless?
BECAUSE I FOUND THEM WITH THE USE OF A GPSr.
Now days you can find anything with a GPS, Walmarts, Oil Changes, Pizza Hut, Even a exit on the highway, but do you log them?
Next time you find a temporary cache, check the log book for a GC# if you find one then you can log it, most of the temporaries that we have found didn’t even have a log book only a little .10 rubber stamper, and you stamped your print out as proof of being there, HMMMM…. no log book to sign, no GC#, yes it did have coordinates to find it, but its still NOT A APPROVED GEOCACHE

Yes I would log them if I was given a set of coordinates at an event for them and there was a log to sign. And, not all log books have a GC# in them. I log those too. There are a lot of replacement logs out there with no GC#s in them. I suppose that if you found one like that, you wouldn’t log it. Anyway, I’m for letting people play how they want to. Now, I am done on this subject for the time being! Go ahead and have the last word. You know you want it.
It was confirmed yesterday that the cougar shot by police in Chicago, was in deed the same cat that was seen in Wisconsin.

I have never met the man, but I would like to offer my condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones.
I just took a peek and saw that I have 153 event finds. And yes, I am proud of that fact. Do you want to know why? It’s because I had to use my gps to find them. Just like all of the other caches I found. At some point in time, most of all caches will be archived and when that happens, it means that they are not permanent but temporary. I will keep on logging “attended” for temp caches, just like many of you will. Kudos to those of you who could care less one way or the other. And to those who are completely set against temp claims, what is the big deal? Does this somehow hurt you or threaten you in some way? I don’t understand why some are so concerned over something so meaningless.
There is my .02 cents worth.
Now, happy caching everybody.
Hello, Scott. I hope you and your family have fun. Don’t be afraid to ask any questions here. Everyone is wonderfuly helpfull.
I give up. Every time I click on the link to hear it, my computer freezes up.
Welcome back. I think if I had a new bike, or at least a comfortable one, I might find myself biking more and caching less.
As of 4/21, I saw $3.73 at BP in Menominee Falls at Appleton and Good Hope.
The way I see it, the grave yards and markers are there for the living. Like Marc said, in time who is going to be around to see it. Let alone take care them. When I go, burn me and spread me out. People can remember me the way I was, not by my name on some rock.
I’m not sure, but it would be nice. I can only fill about half of the screen, maybe a little less.
