I’m not sure if Team Marg. is on line. I have sent a couple IMs to them inquiring about the canoe and have not recieved any communications. It has been about two weeks. I hope nothing is wrong. Maybe on vacation?
A big event within a half hour drive? I think I just wet myself. Looking forward to it. I hope I don’t end up with plans that will trump it.
I only drive with my spare set. To me it saves headaches down the line from something more serious happening.
I have not yet placed any caches myself. However, I was a bit dissapointed to find, on seperate occasions, that a couple of caches I was looking forward to finding had been archived due to low activity. In both cases the caches were in populated areas. In August of last year while on vacation in the north woods, my son and I were able to hunt a cache that had been idle since February of last year. It was in perfect like new condition. This same cache has been sitting idle again until about a week or two ago when there was a did not find post. Sure, this is not in a “saturated” area, but I would surely hate to see this one get archived due to low activity. As for more “saturated” areas (I’m guessing mostly in urban areas) go, yes most of the locals have probably found them already, but what about cachers that come from out of town? I know when I leave town to visit people, I always try to find a couple of caches near their home. I would hate to see some caches that I want to find archived when I get there.
By the way, that north woods cache was Esker in the Kettle (GC10MGP) by rockheadfamily.
I thought I saw him on channel 4 at the Fan Fest but I only caught a quick glimpse as I just happened to be walking past the tv.
Why do you think there are so few of them left? Jimmy Dean will vouch for it.
The first thing I thought of was some cacher ticked off at all those puzzle caches.
I used to bowfish quite a bit but not in the last 20+ years. The last time was when a cop in Glendale came up behind me with his sidearm drawn. When I called the WDNR, I was told that bowfishing was legal in the Milwaukee R. above the first dam, so away I went. What I didn’t do, was check with the municipality. Oops. The cop let me off with a verbal warning because I at least made an honest effort to check if it was legal. I wonder why I quit bowfishing? It was so much fun.
I know two things about mountain lions. If attacked, fight like hell because they are not interested in anything fighting back. A friend of mine was told to do that when he worked in Washington state doing a spotted owl census. And, they make aweome sausage.
Thanks for the posting.

Can someone tell me please, what is the easiest way to delete ALL waypoints from a gps, other than deleting them one by one? I have a Garmin Etrex Ledgend. I keep downloading more to GPS, but now I want to clean it up and get rid of all the ones I don’t need. 😕
The easiest way to delete them at one time would be to throw it out and buy a new one. You don’t even have to push any buttons. How easy is that? 😆
Congatulation on the new bundle of happiness. I hope everyone is healthy.
Seeing as waysides and rest areas are off limits by the DOT, I am also assuming that all P&Rs are also off limits by the DOT. At least those that are owned or controlled by them.
That looks like a very interesting tour. Too bad I wouldn’t have enough vacation time for something like that. Not to mention the quality of the drive with two kids tagging along.
There have been cougars in Minnesota and the UP for years. Until about a year or two ago, the Michigan DNR took the same stance on the issue as the WDNR, and that is that there are no cougars in the state. The MDNR finally went out in search of evidence, and guess what they found? Tracks and scat. After running dna tests, they found that the cats were the real deal and not a released pet. Apparently, lions kept as pets are from south/central America. So. if thay are in Minnesota and the UP, why not here? I believe the WDNR’s official stance remains the same. Now I ask, if mountain lions are extinct in Wisconsin, why does the DNR tell you that it is illegal to shoot one?
I hope my memory is serving me right. I know I read this stuff not too long ago. If I’m wrong, my appologies.
