A couple of weeks ago I began reading a book titled “The World Without Us” by Alan Weisman. Very intersting. It’s about how long it would take the earth to revert back to its former self if all humans just suddenly died out or vanished. How long it will take cities to disappear, how long for the air and water to become clean again, etc. Anyway, I remember reading about BP above, and thought I would throw this out there as well. The top paragraph on page 138 in this book states that Fred Newhouse is proud of the clean record of Valero Energy Corporation, where he works, “especially compared to the BP plant across the road, which the EPA in 2006 named the nation’s worst polluter”. Just something to think about when you see BP’s commercials on tv about how environmently friendly they are.
We will have to be synchronized properly. I only drool when I try to drink beer and chant at the same time. I hate when that happens.

In summary…Welcome to the addictive party. Since you are a Bears fan, the club can commence its mayhem. A local member of the cult will show you the ropes before the human sacrifice.
Doesn’t it all sound just peachy???
Is the sacrifice going to be considered a mega event?
I think that’s a great idea. Bring beer and trackables too.
Glad to hear you are having fun. It usually takes just that first find to hook some one on this sport.
Geez. I have no idea what any of that says or what it means to me. I’m not dumb, just an idiot.
I remember back in 87′ when my wife and I were first dating. I drove up to Marshfield to spend our first X-mas together and with her family at their homestead. Gift opening doesn’t happen until after dinner which is around 2 in the afternoon. Anyway, one of the first gifts opened was a rock. I started wondering what the hell kind of a family am I going to marry into. As it turned out, years earlier my mother-in-law gave my father-in-law a wallet or something that was very light in weight. So to try to fool him a bit, she went out and found a rock to wrap up and place in the package. A tradition was born. Every year there after someone received that very rock. I never did get to unwrap the thing, so I don’t know if I should feel left out or not. The tradition died out when my mother-in-law died three years ago. My wife was thinking of starting it up again, but I think she should let it go. You know, something special to remember about her folks.
Anyway, I hope that everyone’s Christmas was a safe one.
Welcome to our friendly cult. I mean club. Seeing as you are a bears fan, I guess we can start the human sacrafices again. Have fun. That’s what it’s all about.
I’m not sure what to say to that. If there was open water and one could not walk to it because the water is too deep, I would say that it’s not a 1. If the water is frozen and one could walk to it, I would say that it is not a 5. So, I personally would have no problem with a 3 on the difficulty rating. Of course the ice could be thin or very slick so one would have to use common sense and decide for themself whether or not to attempt it. Then again it could be on a river island with a fairly strong current. I did this island cache last winter, GCQQ46. Anyone else care to chime in?
Thank you. And a Merry Christmas to you too Zuma.
Merry Christmas to everybody. I wish you all great friends, which sounds like you all have, good health, and a long life.
Hope to see all of you sooner or later on the trails.

Does that include fondue at your get togethers?
Yes but its required that you let it cool before applying it.
I would rather not. I kind of like the hot burning pain thing.

I plan on smoking more, drinking more, and having more 70’s style “get togethers” …
but seeing as how the only one I may actually come close to doing is drinking more (not like that is hard lately…) I’ll just stick to the old standby’s of weight loss and being nice to the pygmies in new guinea..
On a geocaching note, I’ll try to clear out the home territory, hopefully tackle the one or two Timberline Echo’s caches that have come out since I cleared their list earlier this year. Beyond that…try and find some new places to go cache, maybe pick up a county or two.
I hope everyone here is able to make theirs come true this year
peace

We are going to Mike’s house.

My drive was finally cleared off this morning for the first time since Dec 1. Even the ice dams are gone. At least from the south side of the house. I was at the hardware store yesterday and they said they are getting a new load of roof rakes in on thursday. Sorry I can’t say which store. I need to make sure I get one first.
Thanks Hemi. The same goes for you and your family. I would gladly send my new gps back that the wife gave me if I could get a new back. There is nothing like good health.
And they’re not made in China!
I don’t know about the rest of you, but every now and then I have to throw a benchmark in to try to find as well. I try to go after ones that haven’t been found by cachers. It’s a pretty good rush finding something that hasn’t been found in 30 years.
