If I’m not mistaken, I believe the attributes snow icon says “available in winter”. I have seen a lot of caches that say “available in winter but not winter friendly”.
I will usually spend a little extra time researching the whole description and read quite a few of the logs before hitting one with a lot of snow on the ground. If it has been found a couple of time since the last snow, I will go for it. If not, I may go for it if time allows.
Here is another log on the fire. Anyone here doing, or has done, the DeLorme Challenge? Isn’t that just a giant multi? Is anyone deleteing the caches that completed the required pages after the challenge was completed? Or, are you keeping each logged stage of this giant multi as a find? Sorry. I guess I’m getting away from the original thread. I just like a good debate.
This is where I stand on this issue: If it is a named waypoint with coordinates that is meant to be found as a cache, and I find it, I log it. However, I don’t care what one does one way or the other.
Here is some data taken from the above posts about temps:
For temps-2
Against temps-1
Doesn’t care-6
For but doesn’t care-2
Deleted them but doesn’t care-6
I can’t tell one way or the other-7Of course this is completely unscientific.
Welcome to the cult. I mean club. Haven’t spent any time out your way, but I heard it’s a good area.
What is the definition of a temporary cache? I have seen new caches pop up only to be disabled a couple of days later and then archived a couple of months after that. To me, that’s pretty temporary.

A muggle looking in from the outside, would think we are all nuts and I couldn’t agree more!!!
Ummmm…..don’t they think that already?? ❓ ❓ 🙄 🙄 😯 😯 😕 😕 😆 😆 😀 😉
I know my wife thinks so.
Great news. Wishing you continued success with your recovery.
Welcome to the family, or what my wife calls, a cult. Check out the up coming events. The Waukesha Janboree is a good time and a chance to meet some wonderful people.

The little kiddos can’t go out for recess and THEY REALLY NEED IT!
Just saying, is all. 😯
Forget about recess. They can’t get out there to shovel. 😥
The first that I’ve heard about it. I’ll keep my eyes open.
My first and only GPSr has been the yellow Garmin etrex. It is about 7 years old and I have never had a problem with it. I have dropped it numerous times, even on concrete, and it keeps on going. I love the thing, but I have decided that it is time to up grade to one a bit more sophisticated. My wife ordered the Garmin map60cx. My son will get my old one and I told him that I reserve the right to use it as a back up if need be. I see the etrex on sale for about $89.00 and regular price at about $99.00.
I believe that you might be thinking of the Waukesha Winter Janboree. I haven’t heard anything yet about it this winter. Last year I think it was put on by a City of Waukesha entity with help from AuntieNae and maybe the Tapps.
I am thankful for my wife and kids.
I am thankful for other family and friends.
And, with all politics aside, I am thankful for all of the U.S. troops stationed around the world who are sacraficing a great deal for all of us.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday everyone.I have a mac but am very computer illiterate. I don’t even know where to start most of the time. Terms and abbreviations drive me nuts. To me it’s like trying to read the small print in a contract. I can read something a dozen times and still have no idea what they are talking about. Anyway, sorry I can’t be of any help. However, if you don’t mind, I would like to contact you sometime if the need arises.
Thanks for all of your help. I will try your suggestions in a day or so seeing as I am a bit pressed for time.
