Gosh you guys are quick. The wife says thank you to everyone. Is there still a chance of suing for a lifetime supply? I’m sure she would be more than willing to share.

I don’t have any caches, but if I come along one that needs maintenance, I will do what I can to remedy it. If not I will drop an email to the owner. A little common sense goes a long way.

At least we won’t have to start all over again. Thanks again.

You can complete all the counties without hitting all the DeLorme pages (like Piwko and I did last summer… at the time there was no DeLorme challenge) or complete all the DeLorme pages without getting all the counties (like zuma, lagrac, and others have done). Obviously if you know you want to complete both challenges, it will be easier to do them simultaneously… but not a given (a two-for), as you will probably have to find caches that only count for a page or county but not both.

Yep! It’s not a given. Since the DeLorme came out, I have been working on that as well as getting all the counties just cuz I wanted to. I was surprised at how much extra work doing both at the same time was. I still have some gaps in my maps where I have completed all the pages in an area but not all the counties and vice versa. Kinda weird how it works out.

I stand corrected. I have been trying to do both as I go places. Just not going all out just do them. I never really looked that closely at that possiblity. Thanks for setting me straight.

Is there a challenge here for those who have already completed the Delorme challenge? It seems to me to be more of a two-for, except of course for the final. I started to do each county then realized that if I go for the Delorme page, that I will hit two birds with one stone. Maybe I’m missing something?? I think that it’s a great idea though.

I thought a harvest moon was the first full moon after the autumnal equinox.

Anybody been to the Ghost Train caches? We have always wanted to do them, did you see anything? 😯

I had done the Ghost Train caches last year. I believe it was originally a series of five caches, but when I did them there were only four. Since then one has been archived. The remaining ones are:
    Ghost Train Station One GCHZ7J
    ” ” ” Two GCHZ7Q
    ” ” ” Five GCHZ83.
#3 has since been archived and I assume the same is true with #4. And yes, I did see something, but I don’t want to take anything away frome those that will be searching these caches out.

The only ones I know are morels, Pheasant’s backs, and the giant puffballs. The later of which, should be popping up about now, or at least very soon.

Sounds like a lot of fun up there in Point. I was there 21 years ago and didn’t last too long. I was always cutting class to hunt and fish. Now days I would have to cut class to cache. Have a lot of fun, but don’t be like me.

Hilarious! However, if I were the cache owner, I would take a shovel out there and at least bury the thing a few yards away from the cache. What killed the thing? Rabies, distemper? Who knows. I will wait well into fall to go find that one.

Here is an interesting fact, though it is not from caching. You can head east (I believe), from Three Lakes and travel completely around the world without getting out of the water.
I read that on something once when I was up there.

I know Milwaukee was but not sure if it still is the Beer capitol of the world.
And again. not sure if it still is, but Milwaukee was also the Bowling capitol of the world.

I believe that Park Falls is the Grouse capitol of the world.

Oops!!! I didn’t learn that while caching. I was at work.

I guess I have to agree with “First Baby in Brookfield”. I knew the story of the Ingalls but always thought that they were well northwest of here. More towards Minnesota.

Aye. shiver me timbers. I did learn a might somethin’ today. Tis international talk like a pirate day.

At least so I’ve been told.
