The SearchersWe joined Munzee a couple weeks ago. We have two hidden in Wisconsin. Just happened to be in Minneapolis when about a dozen were released and used an Iphone with no problems finding them, coords were very close. We hadn’t expected to be doing any when we were there. Thought this would be fun when there is not enough time to hunt for actual geocaches which we like best. Actually had a fun time discovering many small parks in Minneapolis that might be hard to put a regular cache in. Hope the whole concept keeps growing.
The SearchersIf anyone needs help with this our business-Wooden Nickel Geocoins-woodennickelgeocoins.com,has tracking numbers available for engraving on coins. To do this you need to send us the coin because we have to have the design approved by Groundspeak, we will then send you a quote to have this done. This way you don’t have to drill a hole in a nice coin. Anyone with any questions about this can contact us at any time either here or through the website.
Thanks
The SearchersSounds like it would be fun.
The SearchersWe will be there with tags to trade. Looking to increase our collection.
The SearchersThat would be a good idea. Like to meet other geocachers.
The SearchersYes we will accept a check. Due to the price of wood the cherry ones are now $15.00 each and shipping is still the same for one or two boards. We have a good supply of cherry in stock so we should be able to offer them in the future. Send us a PM if you would like to order any.
The SearchersJust adding a note on our new Natural Cedar display. See picture in original post. This has been popular for use in dens and rec rooms or where you want to keep the rustic look.
The SearchersWe’re glad we got to do some of this series because it was another aspect of the game which is always changing. We did a few caches in several different areas instead of just going down the road one by one. After we got tired of this type find we did more of the regular type hides. Also spent some time exploring the desert. We had no problem pulling far enough off the road and don’t think we saw more than 10 cars the whole day. In fact we saw more low flying jets than cars which was interesting also. Sad to say we didn’t encounter any UFO’s in the area. These caches were safer to do than many we have done. Had a lot of fun out there and in Rachel looking at all the aliens.
The SearchersWe got a subscription for Christmas and also the back issues. Lots of interesting stories. Glad we got it.
The SearchersCongratulations on the milestone.
The SearchersThese are very nice tags. Great design. Hope we can do a trade when we get our new ones next year.
The SearchersWe use Topo 8 to look at where the caches are. Also if you use GSAK there is a macro that works with Cacheye for good maps, you also might be able to use Cacheye with a PQ. Also on GSAK is a newer macro called Cache Route (I think) that maps the best route between caches. We haven’t used this much yet but it is getting some very good responses from people using it. You can print maps from all of these.
The SearchersWe would probably do this on our next tag design. We are planning this for next year so there should be time to get it going.
The SearchersWe did our part by attending the Hartford event and doing 17 other caches on a beautiful day.
