We can’t promise all participants the same experience … nor would we want to… but a cache on the Leaf it To Rusk County contest produced some interesting moments for a cacher. It was an unfortunate incident and certainly not what we would want to have anyone experience, thankfully it came out alright, but still you just never know what you will run into. The contest is seeing a good amount of activity, come experience Rusk County geocaching, fun finds-great prizes.Yes, the 25 new caches are part of a fall geocache contest. We had them published on geocaching.com but they are a little sticky about contests and including contest language in the description. We put together our own website that details the contest http://www.ruskcounty.org/visitorsinfo/fallgeocache.asp. A cache list, and entry form can be found on this site.
A couple words of caution, while we do geocache, we are new to doing a contest. If you like to bushwack or work hard to find caches-this contest may not be fore you. They aren’t in plain site, but they are all relatively quick finds. Some have a little walk, but none to difficult. They all hopefully take you to neat little places in this area. The weather and conditions should produce great fall colors this year, so use this as a reason to come see them. If this contest goes well we plan to do more, and we’ve already been kicking around an “Extreme Geocache” event.
Any feedback is appreciated. -
