If it comes down to mouth to mouth your not gonna make it. New apprentices are made every day.

Said to me by the first journeyman I worked under and repeated by me to every new apprentice

Wow! I didn’t realize there were so many Peep-bashers out there…They’re excellent toasted over a fire in a s’more. The sugar causes them to turn all sorts of pretty colors (unless you’re a s’more hater too).

in reply to: Is this more common than I think?! #1905418

Thanks for the info. I guess I’m so used to having started before there were such technological advances where you could have a GPS installed in your car let alone remove it to help you geocache. Granted, we haven’t been as active in the caching community as we once were…but I hadn’t heard that anyone had been using their car units in the woods. I knew that T&tB had been using Barbie to get close to the site (parking) for their car. It sounded like the woman at REI was pretty new to the sport and thought that you HAD to have maps installed in your handheld unit to cache most efficiently too. I guess that everyone has their own preferences! 😀

You might want to try Mo’s Steakhouse also, but that might be your entire days food allowance.

I once had a clerk tell me “we do not accept tokens” when I gave him a gold dollar coin

First off you are staying in a little bit of a rough area. Make sure you keep your car doors locked and your gps out of sight. There have been a lot of gps units stolen out of cars here recently. I believe there is a Mcdonalds across from the hotel. Best places for food downtown would include, Buck Bradleys on 3rd and state st, Butches Steak House on 7 and Michigan, The Milwaukee Public Market on Water and St. Paul. The one place you must go is The Safe House. There is a cache there inside the bar. Other caches would include anything on the lakefront such as Bonita vista el mar.

in reply to: So… Where Do You Want The Picnic? #1889751

Just because the picnic is a one day event does not mean everyone has to drive home that night. There is no reason why one could not camp overnight and leave the next day. The location chosen will never make everyone happy, but to say that the picnic should always be near the masses is not right in our opinion. We would like to see the events in new locations as much as possible

We have that problem also and we attached the lanyard to the loop on the battery cover.
