Opinion warning

We have cached throughout the stae and found the best caching is in the northwoods, because most every cache takes you somewhere worth going. Not every cache is on a guardrail, or under a light pole base. Caching used to be like that in Milwaukee when we first started. Sadly those days are long gone here. I sincerely hope that does not happen up there. More caches is not always the best thing. Events are always a good time andas the saying goes, If you build it they will come.

It has always been my opinion that a cache should bring you somewhere special, not a park with one tree, not to a pile of garbage, not to a pole base, and not to a guard rail.

We are also with you Randy. There are way to many micro caches in our area. Every park the size of my thumb with at least one tree has a cache hidden in it. We can not wait to go on vacation and find some worthwhile caches.

Buckhorn state park sites 20-22. Theses sites are walk-in but a cart is supplied.
This is a very quiet area on the lake. The sites are very far apart. Our favorite is Carrol lake in the Northern Highland State Forest. Once you have a park picked out let me know and I can give site recommendations.

I would e-mail the owner and ask them what to do. You could log it into the cache you picked it up from and then pick it up again.

We had been finding about 400 a year the last 2 years. We found our 1000 cache at the last campout in May. Our total now is 1099.We have not found a cache since early November. Much of this has to do with cache quality in our area. Most of our caching time is now taken up by my constant home remodeling. Maybe someday our house will be finished and we will hit the trails hard again.
