Congratulations on the 3K Jim. I forgot to do this in person yesterday!
Here, here! I definitely would like to pass along my thanks as well. Very well organized, well attended, and well….fun! The venue was OUTSTANDING and worthy of repeat visits for future LCG events. 😀
I don’t believe anyone can have their page shut down just because it isn’t the “official” representative of something.
At the rate I’m going my goal will be to find a single cache in 2011. Doctoral studies will be cornering the market of what used to be known as my free time.
The two cartridges that you have had problems with are the only two that I have encountered problems with. I have done a number of other cartridges in Wisconsin, as well as a few other states without any other problems. I don’t think it is necessarily a 550t problem.
Twitter more than likely has the ability to reach more people without having to do any advertising. I use all three of these media outlets, but find Twitter to be by far the most powerful in terms of information delivery.

I uploaded a full size picture without a problem this morning. Not that it probably makes a difference one way or the other, but I am using Vista and Google Chrome.
….and then he started double posting! 😀

11/10/2010 at 1:21 am in reply to: gc.com site update on Tuesday, November 09, 2010 at 1pm cst #1938500It appears that all links to geochecker are shot!
I solved a couple of Zeroes to Heroes puzzles and when I clicked over to check the solution I got the screen that allows you to create a geochecker.
So I then checked a couple of my own puzzles and I got the same result. That sucks!!!!!! 👿
So many lonely caches. Little time.
I’m going to write once and I’m done with the subject. I’m more than a little perturbed with this entire thread/situation/debacle/or whatever else you would like to call it. Police were wrong? Maybe. Police were justified? Maybe. Frankly, I couldn’t care less about the situation as it is.
Here is what bothers me. This is an ASSOCIATION that is designed to FURTHER the sport of geocaching. Creating good will, educating the public (and the law enforcement community), and other similar CONSTRUCTIVE activites should be what this organization stands for. But instead we have people calling law enforcement officers idiots, clueless, stupid asses, fools in blue, Barney Fife’s, and whatever other monikers I may have missed. Now that folks is one hell of a way to promote this association.
So you would like the police to utilize the GC site to confirm whether a package is a cache or not? Great idea. But if they also decide to “check out” these forums as they catch wind of this sport and see that they are being branded as a bunch of idiots….guess what? I think you can likely see my point. What a shame it would be for a police officer who has some pull in the community to take offense to this thread and convince the council to ban the placement of caches in his/her community. What if it was Green Bay? or perhaps Appleton? Yup, that would sure be a real laugher now wouldn’t it? Can’t be done? Think again.
So go ahead and flame me if you will. Frankly at this point I couldn’t care less. I’m simply stating my concerns about the direction of an association that I was proud to tell people about just a couple of days ago. I know not everyone associated with the WGA is in this category of people that need to evaluate their actions; actually quite the contrary. Those who get it and promote the WGA in a POSITIVE manner….thank you!
Kudos VG….you just said what I have been a little too pissed off to say. All I can say is wow…. 👿
I guess attitude is a choice….
Archiving finished. Back to drawing board.
