Walmart has had the BellSouth GMRS/FRS radios on clearance now for a couple of weeks. I held out until they hit $8 a piece. Audio is good and the range is not the 5 miles advertised, but that was expected. Bang for buck these are the best! Check your local Wally world for this deal. Heck if you want to step up later, you’ll still have these as backups.

Co-conspirators to make the world a better place…Even though I did vote for the Campout, the only other one on the list I was familiar with was my own. After some thought I, too, agree that Events should not be allowed as COTM. I think anyone that attended can agree that it was a great time and a great “cache”. This really also takes away from one of the purposes of the COTM — to recognize caches that have gone above and beyond the norm in quality, ingenuity, and fun.

Co-conspirators to make the world a better place…I would second the Harrington Beach Park. We spent some time there pre-geocaching and it is absolutely beautiful with alot of history too. While it looks as if it is rather primitive at this point I do believe there were several trails running through the park. The central lake shelter is not enclosed but the shelter at the NE is, I think. This is also the only are with electricity (I think). There are no flush toilets, either; only well-maintained, new pit toilets. Oh, and the quarry lake is absolutely fantastic with remanants of the mining works still easily visible below the clear blue-green waters. (Sorry, no swimming) This will defintely be a stopping point for us on any travels south this summer anyway and I believe it would make a fantstic GeoPicnic site!

Co-conspirators to make the world a better place…OK, I’m game for a good auction! Since this is for the benefit of the WGA, I’ll start the bidding…
$15.00
I’d also love to see this be a special t-shirt… maybe we could get all the current board members to sign it or something! I’d consider increasing my bid even more, then.

Co-conspirators to make the world a better place…I love the rugged hike followed by the easier hide.
I love the easier hike followed by the tough and ingenius hide.
The tough hike followed by the impossible hide irritates me as I’m really going to start to dread this hike if I’ve gotta come back here 3 or 5 times to evenually nab this one.
The easier hike followed by the easier hide is good for the kids or for a morale booster after the DNF.I really had to keep all these likes and dislikes in mind lately as I’m just finishing up a new cache series in the NE Wisconsin area. 29 different caches, all unique and challenging in thier own way. Hiding this quantity and making each one a quality hide has been the challenge so far, but I’m ceratin I’ll be successful and certain that there will be something here to please every type of cacher.
Personally, though, I’d have to say that I lean a tad more towards the hide over the hike.
Great topic, Brew.

Co-conspirators to make the world a better place…We will definitely be bringing her along. I was anticipating the parking issue would be a “play it by ear” thing anyway. This 10×20 beauty only weighs about 300lbs so the two of us should be able to haul her from the overflow parking lot if needed.
I was just worried that I’d have a place for most of the rest of our gear, but I have an old canvas 4 post’r I may bring along as well. I’m more than happy to loan her out for the weekend. We were planning on getting there early anyway so you can have her for the whole time! Glad I can help!
See you soon!

Co-conspirators to make the world a better place…I don’t have to be a local to tell you how it affected the park. Everything got wet.
This is the insight and leadership that we appreciate from the WGA. What would we do with out experienced, intelligent folks like you.

Co-conspirators to make the world a better place…This is the canopy I have. We usually set this up to keep our cooking/kitchen/bathroom stuff in but I would be willing to trade this to public use for a close parking spot (to keep our stuff in our van or trailer instead)
I believe this would work out best. The sides roll up and out of the way and can easily be dropped in event of rain or wind. We really have great luck with this puppy and even kept her up during a storm with a tornado nearby… not recommended, but adventurous none the less.

Co-conspirators to make the world a better place…Not a problem, Ken. That was kind of the other half of / reason for that username… Either way I still prefer Jeff or GeoPink.
It’s not often I’m pictured with a halo over my head either. Thanks!

Co-conspirators to make the world a better place…arcangl7 is simply another of several 8 digit usernames (that resembles something about me) that I use online… arc – I am a quite involved with our local American Red Cross chapter. angl – I am a quasi-machinist for my full time work
The Team GeoPink part is a bit tougher to explain. You’ll have to ask my wife and four daughters to explain that!
