    Better yet…

You can go ahead and plan a geocaching type get-together at this event, and list it on our very own website!

If you’ve got a geocaching related event you are free to click on “Events” at the left of this page. Then go to the “Submit Event” Tab and type in the details. If everything is in order, and it is significantly geocaching related, I’m sure we would allow it to be listed here (though I can’t guarantee anything).

These forums are another great place to plan and announce events. For several years now the Rock Island Getaway has been planned in these forums.

I am inclined to attend this meeting, however, the attitude expressed by these pompous a$$e$ will simply make my blood boil and I fear this decision is already made.

What a shame. Apparently WI geocachers have not been able to police themselves for the last six years that geocaching has been in WI. Thank God Almighty! Brown County is stepping in to show us the way!

    Frickin’ Morons.

    What some fools.

Am I the only one who’s slightly disturbed by the number of geocachers chiming in here with how they would kill someone while out in the woods geocaching? 😯

Thanks for helping me put together my list of geocachers I’m not going into the woods with! 8) 😆 😕

in reply to: When is a hint not a hint? (Mini rant) #1874077

When I first began geocaching and started to seriously look into hiding a cache (back before you just threw a key box on a guardrail…) I read on the “Dark Side Forums” that

The hint should bring the difficulty of the hide down 1 star.

I use that as my guide when providing a hint.

If I’m going to take the time to hide a 4 star difficulty cache, I’m not going to be giving “dead giveaway” hints.

On the other side, if I’m going to be hiding a 4 star difficulty cache, I need to hide it in an area that can handle the potential traffic involved.

It is a two-way street. Hiders must hide responsibly and hint responsibly.
Finders must hunt according to the difficulty rating of the cache and be mature enough to accept the inevitable DNF’s.

I, too, am far from normal, but I can certainly see it. All three of them. 😆

That is a cool trick. Thanks!

I, too, enjoyed the little “event” last fall and I’m certain I met Miss Devil and lagrac… But I can all but guarantee that I couldn’t pick either of you out in a lineup!

Yes, the Ramsey Rally looks to be a fun time. I wish I would be able to attend that weekend (my in-laws live in the area), but alas I cannot. The event organizers have asked WayTags.com for some Door Prize/Giveaway Swag which I’ll be sending out their way soon. It looks to be a fun time for all!

Anyone have any problems with an Illinois-folk tossing in a design concept?

We gladly accept designs or ideas submitted by anyone. In fact we have a special file where ideas from south of the border go… 😆

Yes, we would love to have as many contributions, ideas, and designs to choose from as possible.

    That’s Three!

Two Suggestions of Hwy 10 in Manitowoc, and one for Hwy 116…

I’ll get right back to you all tomorrow after I talk with our fine DOT folks and get us a highway!

    Thanks!

90 ammo cans hidden in the woods, if one of those can should happen to be visible to a group of rowdy young hooligans with nothing better to do than ruin some good clean family fun…. 😎

89 ammo cans hidden in the woods.

What an absolutely exciting, short little adventure! This was Sara’s friend Brittany’s first cache find and what an exciting one it was. First off Elizabeth(7) got her hair braid caught in some branches as she was crawling around under the brush looking for the cache. Then Cassandra(4), who’s favorite color is orange, found one of several orange “candy’s” on the ground and decided to eat it. It was not, after all candy, but paint balls. She quickly discovered her mistake, but not before biting into it and getting a mouth full of paint. Then I hear Audrey (9) yelping about thorns and lo and behold, she has gotten herself stuck on the wrong side of the nearby barbed wire fence and is afraid to come back through!

Believe it or not, we did actually find the cache and the girls were so excited, they traded the three items in the cache for three items we brought along! What a great time!

This is why we generally do not get more than 4 or 5 caches done in an entire afternoon of caching. But this is also why I love it! Memories like this!

Thanks for the great cache! – Team GeoPink – Jeff, Sara, Audrey, Elizabeth, Cassandra, and Sara’s friend Brittany
