I also have a question about pda’s. I am looking at the Palm Zire. They say it’s a bare bones type pda which is what I want. Is it possible to be to bare boned? What is the bare minnimum I would need to download caches? Do they all come with the basic software needed to run the programs mentioned above?

We would also be interested in attending and/or helping out. Just name the time and place.

Thanks all for the congrats. I have really enjoyed getting out to use my legs and brain. I have seen a lot of nature such, as the eagles on Yellowstone Lake. I have lost 25 pounds. I can now navigate all of Milwaukee by remembering old caches, go left where Icarus used to be and right near Ivan Ain’t Comin’. And I have dicovered the beauty of dead stumps and logs since I have now studied them for many hours. Hope to see you all at the campout and on the trail.

    Thanks everyone for the congrats.
It’s amazing how the sport has grown in just my year of involvement. I was looking at an old email I sent to our neighbor that joins us every once in a while; it was dated 8-11-01 and we had 36 finds. At that time I was amazed I found that many. I sent him the Dan Miller ranking page for Wisconsin (yes I am competitive and check the rankings), it showed Lil Otter with 243 finds and jthorson with 192 as the top two. When I was at 100 I never thought I would make 300. But I did. It’s incredible how far everyone has come in a short period of time. Just think, I only need 878 to catch Lil Otter now. I hope by our second anniversary the sport has grown as exponentially as on our first.
I have huge amounts of gratitude for those that place the caches. This weekend we found two fabulous caches (Dr.Evermore&Lady Elenor & PeeWee’s (Pewit’s) Small Falls) and are always glad to view things we would not have seen without geocaching.
Thanks again from the Geotrippers (Mike, Cindy, Morgan & Will)

This was a nice cache. We went today before the game and was the second one there. Badlatitude beat us. The walk through the prairie was harsh with the wind in our faces. We also found A Little Bit of Paradise while in the area.

Man was it cold today. We have saved Lord of the Caches – The Trilogy for a winter cache and went for it today. The open fields of the swamp let the wind hit unimpeded. If the wind was at our backs going to the cache, we dreaded the walk back, into the wind. Gas station cocoa was the drink of the day.

Thank you from the whole Geotrippers team ,me(Mike), mom (Cindy), Morgan (4yr old daughter), Will (1-1/2yr old son) and John (friend and neighbor). We have all enjoyed geocaching as a fun and cheap way to get out of the house and spend time together. Since I have ben laid off for the last couple of months, this has given me something enjoyable to do besides job hunt.
Thanks again and also thanks to the Cache Cows for helping us get started.
