To track your finds as far as the DeLorme, get a copy of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife). There are a few macros that can be used with it to track several different challenges.
What exaactly are you trying to do?
The GPX file is basically an XML file that contains cache data. The file can be easily read and changed by a regular text editor like notepad, but try to find an editor that recognizes XML so it can display the file in a more readable form.
The GPX file can be loaded into GSAK and onto a lot of GPSr’s.
There is really no reason to edit a GPX file downloaded from GC.com because if you are not careful you could corrupt the file.

I would love to but when ever I get into a canoe their is a high likely hood of said craft tipping over.
Not much to worry about in that part of the river. It’s looking pretty low right now and at normal depth you won’t find too many places where you would be in over your waist. 😀
Don’t know who the guru would be but they meet regularly.

Racine, WIFinal coordinates could be an abandoned house out in the middle of nowhere where the people start disappearing from the group.
Darn, the travel bug tattoo won’t be done by then.
Have a good trip. I’ve enjoyed both of my trips there and would like to go several more times.
A couple of things that may cause problems but do not reduce the usability of the software:
1. Downloading the PQs using the geocaching.com menu loads all available PQs into the currently open database. I found that the PqLoader macro now uses the API to get the PQs though it only loaded to data for one of the databases. The PQ for other was still in the download directory so I was able to run the macro a second time and it loaded the data.
2. Publishing logs does not have the ability to grab, drop or discover trackables. Even with this limitation, I have been using this feature to log my finds. Set up a template and edit each log and publish them all at once. I’m not able to use field notes because my GPS uses a different data format in the finds file. I have GCCODE,DATE,NOTE and the software is looking for GCCODE, NOTE.
3. As I have been upgrading with the minor revisions I have been getting an error message about the temp directory but the program continues to run. I’m wondering if this has something to do with the PqLoader macro not completing the processing of all PQs.
I agree with Team DeeJay, it is software worth the price. It is continually updated and the developers are always willing to give advise for problems that occur between the keyboard and the chair.
We plan on going out to Bong sometime in January to get ours.
Welcome to the obsession, addiction, insanity, whatever you want to call it. I’d be happy to get out and help you since we are so close. There are a lot of others in the Kenosha, Racine and Lake county areas that get together for coffee and geocaching discussions. PM me when you want to get out and we will try to coordinate.

Best way I’ve ever learned new software is to walk through the menus and play around. Gsak has a wonderful help system so don’t be afraid to use it.
I noticed this yesterday and it was on IE. I hid my finds and my hides and the labels for those caches kept popping up. I even think there were a few archived caches that popped up.
It will really depend on how you word it when you submit it.
There is a cache down in Kentucky that is inside a museum. The coordinates take you to the front door and the clue leads you inside to the coat rack. The staff is very helpful. When I was there they had an exhibit blocking the coat rack. I told the staff at the desk what I was doing and the gladly went back and got it for me to sign.

If I do not go anywhere, a full tank lasts me two weeks as my work commute is only 3 miles one way and I drive elsewhere only if I have to.
Just think, with only a 3 mile commute you can think about biking to work for that one month when the weather is nice. That could save you about $10 by that time. 😀

Hope you get it fixed soon. I’ve been waiting for that Wherigo replacement all winter. 😀
