Hollow stump right next to the trail. I thought that wold be a great place for a geocache and found the letterbox when I looked in. Signed the log and hid it a little better.

Few days later I tried to look it up on the letterboxing site and coldn’t find it.

A lot of the time when you cannot find them online they are mystery letterboxes…3 of the 4 I found were mystery letterboxes (Wizard of Oz Series).

…and like you I looked in those places cuz they would be a good spot for a geocache to be placed.

The one I found was actually part of a series of state themed letterboxes. Found several of the other states on the site but not the one I found.

Rented from Alamo for Spring Break in Utah. Just reserved the basic for our needs but since they have the choose your own we ended up with a 4 wheel drive with XM satelite radio at no extra charge.

No, that was just me running my GPS Signal jammer at the WGA Campout!!!

I suppose you had it turned up to eleven.

I think it would be better if you take me off the list. I think I would be more willing to stay on the list if I had already visited the caches or one was closer to my location.

    Thanks,

I got a reply from [email protected] about claiming an adopted EarthCache as a pin requirement and here is there reply:

“You can only claim EarthCaches you have developed for the Masters Pin program. “

Looks like I have my work cut out for me to get to the next level.

    in reply to: Grills #1908028

I’ve had the same Sunbeam grill for 14 years now. Have replaced the burner and lava rocks several times and burned through the lava rock support grill once. I like to change the rocks when I replace the burner. I can usually get two to three seasons after a rebuild.

It needs another rebuild right now. Anyone have experience with the ceramic tiles instead of lava rocks?

BTW, the side burner is great for bacon. Throw the cast iron skillet on there and fry away. Nothing like a good BLT and not having to clean the grease off of the stove, the counter, the floor… the ceiling.

Will an adoption count towards ranking? I need to place one in order to get to the next Medal level.

If it will count, I’d be happy to take one.

in reply to: Making Geocaching My Full-Time Job #1907324

I have thought the same thing off and on for a long time. I think it’s time I got out of IT and found a real job.

Only way I thought of to cache for a living is to become a sales rep for one of the GPS manufacturers. Travel around to sports shows, Gander Mountain, Outdoor World and REI to give demos and educate people. After all the business is taken care of you could join a bunch of local cachers and hit the trails.

I know that this idea is almost impossible to implement, but here goes.

If a cache gets a vote from someone outside the region where the cache is located that vote counts for 3.

This shows that the cache is viewed by someone who took the time to visit it from another region to be worthy of the COTM honors.

Again, I know it is almost impossible at this time.

I haven’t hidden any yet so I might be able to live with just finding.

I also have trouble coming up with the poetic descriptions and intricate puzzles.

    Welcome to the addiction!

You have a very reliable little piece of equipment in that Legend. We have been using ours for over 4 years now and the only problems we have had was with the user.

We recently converted over to paperless because the legend doesn’t have all those fancy features that newer units have for storing descriptions and hints. Going with a printout for the cache from GC.com is always a good start. Load the coords into the unit by hand or directly through the serial port and hit the trails.

Have fun and remember to protect yourself from all the nasty little things that are starting to come out now.

I know that this is in the book but it is on private property so GC would not allow it. ____ In A Tree
