in reply to: Did anyone else watch USA v. Algeria? Amazing #1931578

I wanted to follow it (can’t watch it at work, but can view the commentary) but I forgot when it was. I thought it was tomorrow for some reason 🙁

But what about bm’s that aren’t listed on GC? There is no place on the submittal form for a GC user name, only email and initials.

“If there are any idiots in the room, will they please stand
up?” said the sarcastic teacher. After a long silence, one
    freshman rose to his feet.

“Now then mister, why do you consider yourself an idiot?”
inquired the teacher with a sneer.

“Well, actually I don’t,” said the student, “but I hate to see
you standing up there all by yourself.”

Four men got together to play golf one sunny morning. As they
were heading out to the course, one of them was detained by a
    phone call.

The other three were discussing their children while walking to
    the first tee.

“My son,” said one proudly, “has made quite a name for himself
in the home building industry. He began as a carpenter, but now
owns his own design and construction firm. He’s so successful,
in fact in the last year he was able to give a good friend a
brand new home as a gift.”

The second man, not to be outdone, boasts how his son began his
career as a car salesman, but now owns a multi-line dealership.
“He’s so successful, in fact, in the last six months he gave a
friend two brand new cars as a gift.”

The third man brags that his son has worked his way up through a
stock brokerage firm, and has become so successful that in the
last few weeks has given a good friend a large stock portfolio
    as a gift.

As the fourth man arrives at the tee box, the three smugly tell
him that they have been discussing how successful their progeny
are, and ask what line of work his son is in.

“To tell the truth, I’m not very pleased how my son has turned
out,” he replies. “For fifteen years, he’s been a hairdresser,
and I’ve just recently discovered he’s gay

As the other three recoil in horror, he continues, “but on the
bright side, he must be good at what he does, because his last
three boyfriends have given him a brand new house, two new cars,
    and a big stock portfolio.”

Nice idea to show support for those people behind the scenes that make it all possible.

in reply to: WGA to review COTM #1931481

I don’t know about some of the others, but I don’t do the COTM mostly because of distance. I don’t have a lot of time to get out caching, and it seems like most of them are just too far away. Perhaps multiple, regional CsOTM? Also, due to my use of an antique GPS, I’ve never purchased a premium membership. So even if this month’s is 10 miles from me, I would never know.

I know there are a couple of recalls on mine too. One of them requires the ECM to be reprogrammed to prevent icing of the throttle valve 😯 The other one involves filling in holes in sills and dash panel so water won’t get in and corrode the electrical connections under the seats….very strange recalls IMO.
Do you have a knob for the temperature? Mine sticks. I guess it’s a common problem with the Outlander, not sure if it is the same on the Endeavor. Supposedly there is an updated linkage kit to fix it. Just curious.

Finally! After a week of waiting and taking care of paperwork, I’ll be picking the Outlander up tonight after work 🙂 How’s my Mitsu-mate enjoying his?

    How do you say them????
    TE

Creek is like squeak, except in city names where it sounds like stick (sometimes)
Coupon is troop (you know, like chicken coup)

Do you pronounce the second ‘t’ or not? (I do).

Depends on if I’m lazy or actually want to pronounce it 🙂

    in reply to: Mispronouncing… #1931282

Although I guess it should be key-toe (cache has a hard ‘c’)

    Something like this?

I don’t think there is an “official” note. A few people have just created their own.

Just got my coins today. Absolutely beautiful. Now to get one of them out in the world 😀

in reply to: In the market for a different car… #1930137

That might be it. I’ve found a couple of places that call the side rails the crossbars though. Sucks that there aren’t any pictures. I might just have to call.

Thanks for the info. I just know it’s been a while since the last post and I’m sure I’m not the only one that was curious 😀
