Thanks for all of the input. I honestly still haven’t made up my mind. I’ll shake it around for a bit and see what falls out 🙂
side note:
Might be a bit before I can upgrade because the car is acting funny and needs some new parts. I’m just hoping it’s nothing major 😯This may sound dumb, but are you sure you are connecting to your network? A couple of weeks ago, my laptop logged onto a nearby network instead of mine. It’s never done that before, but I just had to switch it back. I never made mine the default, it just always chose it. Now it is the default. Just a thought.
I think I will stick with a Garmin, now to figure out which one! I think I’ve got it narrowed down to:
eTrex Legend HCx ($191) [no electronic compass]
eTrex Vista HCx ($240) [boatload more expensive]I’m leaning towards the Legend due to the price, but the no compass thing is kind of a bummer. I suppose I could always carry an ‘analog’ compass 🙂
Though it’s a great cause and a great price per coin, I just can’t justify spending $140 at the moment 🙁
Works for me. I know all of you guys work hard on every aspect of the WGA and just the fact that you responded is more than enough for me. I’ll wait patiently for the answer to present itself 😀
Out of curiosity, is there an estimated number of coins going to be minted? I know the cost will be variable depending on the design chosen, thickness of the metal and all of that other happy stuff.
Those ones do look to be trimmed down. But if you look just east of the highway you see this: http://www.geocaching.com/map/default.aspx?lat=35.60762664755081&lng=-115.51162719726562&zm=11&mt=m Didn’t pay attention, so I do know if that was there before.
I don’t feel it’s ‘wrong’ to walk in front of a grave marker. Many people kneel or sit down directly in front of them when visiting. But to require someone to enter that space for the sole purpose of retrieving a cache might be one of those gray areas. If the CO intended the hunter to go to that specific marker and take note, great. If it was just a random selection because of the tree near it, not so great.

I’d love to be a part of the CITO, but unfortunately it’s my weekend to work. I do want to get to at least one of the other ones coming up though.
Bet they wouldn’t do anything for my GPS. My eMap is pretty much an antique 😀
Was out on Terrell Island near Oshkosh this morning and when I got home I found one crawling on me. Could someone direct me to a good linky that shows the difference between a wood tick and a deer tick? Or at least a good description?
I think I would let it stand. It seems the main point of your cache was to get them out into the particular woods that you’ve enjoyed. Perhaps send them a message asking them to remove the portion about not being able to reach it, you don’t want to give other people ideas. Maybe just have them say something about the area and thank you for the cache.
It really would have been more courteous of them to ask you if they could log it first though.@lucy92979 wrote:

You know you shouldn’t bid until the last few minutes right? Otherwise it just drives the price up.
I like it.
