Beware of traffic!

The yellow circled intersections are very busy around 4-6ish (at least.) The red arrows show which directions are blocked. You cannot cross 41 on 44/South Park Ave. They redirect you on the frontage road to 20th. 9th Ave is the next closest exit and it’s right near fast food alley, so around food time you pretty much don’t move.21 will still be pretty bad, but traffic seems to flow a little better. If you are taking 41 into town or are coming from the West, I recommend this route:

Of course, you can always take Algoma Blvd/Hwy 45 (North of maps) or County Rd N/Hwy 26 (South of maps.) Both of those options will help avoid a lot of AirVenture traffic as well.
So, to recap:
Busy intersections
-South Park Ave @ 41
-9th Ave @ 41
-20th Ave @ 41Closed roads
-Hwy 41 on-ramps @ South Park Ave
-South Park Ave overpass
-Witzel Ave overpass
-Main St between Ceape Ave and Irving AveConstruction
-Witzel Ave @ Washburn and Koeller (either side of Hwy 41.)
-Algoma Blvd
-Jackson StIn other words, plan ahead for an alternate route, or be prepared to wait in traffic.
Even better 🙂
I like that poem/song. Where is it from?
Nice recovery. Gotta say though, I like disks and intersection stations much better. They are more interesting than just a nub of metal in concrete.
Found my first rod type mark today! It was a pretty easy one, set in a concrete culvert. Still pretty cool. You can check out the pics on the log at: OM0554
Update to the original topic. DaveD came through with the info:

The portion in the box refers to this disk.

Dave is a great guy. If anyone can find anything, he would be the one.
Did you look at the picture of his recovery of the Washington Monument? Absolutely amazing!
HV4442 – WASHINGTON MONUMENT 1913Just an update to the original topic:
Got a message from Dave Doyle an NGS Chief Geodetic Surveyor, he said he has a near complete database of the old USGS monuments. He is going to see what he can find for me!@-cheeto- wrote:

Dunno why I’m so sarcastic today, but I like it. 😀
Welcome to the club we have jackets and a hat on order for you, pathtags are up for discussion though.
We had a secret vote yesterday. No pathtags for you.
Wait wait wait, if you just talked about it yesterday, how can you have a decision already??
Congrats. That’s a long way to come and a lot of finds in just a year. But you know, you can’t slow down now….1300 a year until you’ve found them all!
Welcome from a fellow Oshkoshian!
My guess? Gremlins. Definitely gremlins. Or a broken solder joint. One of the two. I don’t really know much about electronics, but I know gremlins. So yeah, I’ll go with gremlins 🙂
Good to go. Got a present from Santa! Thanks 🙂
It would be nice if it were an interactive map. That way I could zoom in, pan around, that sort of stuff.
I just finished entering all the coords onto my spreadsheet. I’m going to start plotting them. I may not need assistance after all. That’s what I get for trying to skip out of figuring out how to do something myself 🙂 But hey, if anybody does come up with something in the next day or two, I would still be interested (as I will probably still be working on my version!)
