Yet another Jeep seems to have disappeared from a cache. Went there (GCP1T0) looking for it and the only other person to write in the log since it was placed didn’t find it either. Do people nore realize they can BUY these jeeps for a few dollars?
Congrats! It was great to meet both of you at the event and hope that we cross paths again soon. Anyone who bring sM&Ms to an event is fine in my book!
Now on to the next milestone!

Actually, FIL means Father-in-law…..
BTW, I really liked NMH….will have to use that one in the future. (And BTW meas “by the way”)
What happened last year to all the Jeeps I was watching and what seems to be happening this year is that the Jeeps are being picked up and taken out of the state. At the same time, Jeeps don’t seem to be COMING to WI in the same fashion. Hopefully we can find some of them around but they will probably be scarce.
I just finished a weekend of northwoods caching and I have to agree that there are many many high quality caches to be had. I second the idea of “marketing” the caches by setting up bookmarks or routes for some of the areas. Say “Caches along Hwy 8” or “Caches from Wausau to Minoqua”. Those of us who spend time in the far north infrequently would really benefit from a little push in the right direction.
Use the Delorme challenge to your advantage….there are many people who want to complete the challenge who are going to have to venture farther than they usually do. Maybe create book marks for caches by page, county, etc. Offer some advice on great places to stay, out of the way camping spots or restaurants, too. Everyone loves the gems they find up north and not all of them are found on the geotrail.
Just my $0.02.

Heard one this weekend that made me smile. Stopped at a really unusual cache and some one said “At least this isn’t JASPITW”.
Apparantly JASPITW means “Just Another Stick Pile In The Woods”. Seemed appropriate for all the stick piles we had come across that day….
I would much rather find JASPITW than JALUMD….Just another lame urban micro driveby.
Don’t get me wrong….I wasn’t complaing about the stick piles. I love them and the longer the hike to get to them the better. Out of the way spots are the best! And some of the urban micros I have done have been truly creative and sneaky. There are great caches everywhere, you just have to find them. 😀

Thanks to all! Had a great time and picked a great one for number 200. On to the next 200….
Timberline: Glad to hear that you found the lid…or rather found the cache as THAT is what was out of place. Never thought to look IN the tree but will keep that in mind when hunting your caches in the future. Great to meet you at the bash! I am sure we will cross paths again in the future.
Marc: Had a blast riding with people who are (more) obsessed about this sport than I am. If only I had the time……would be willing to ride along with you anytime and won’t swear nearly as loudly from now on when we can’t find the cemetary caches.

I agree…that one ROCKS! Mind if I use it?
My treasure is in place a ready for the finding. Anyone willing to travel to the Madison area?
I can’t wait to get home and figure out which pages I have done! Looks like I am going to have to make some road trips soon. Thanks for putting this together….

Not a problem.. I’m sure there will be plenty of takers!! We’ll pair ya up with some other great cachers!! 😉
Great! I will put it in the calendar and make sure the tent is ready! Looking forward to meeting some “famous” cachers….
Anone want to “adopt” me? We want to come and will definitely camp, but my DH and DS will most likely abandon me to visit the in-laws in Marinette for the day and then come back for all the fun festivities in the evening. If some one has room in their vehicle, I would love to meet some people and tag along for the ride. I would rather cache than be cooped up with the in-laws anyday.
08/14/2006 at 2:16 pm in reply to: Help needed for Geoteaming Events at Camp Jeep Aug 9th-12th! #1764217My mom and I were lucky enough to be able to participate in the geocaching event and want to thank everyone who helped put such a wonderful event on. As soon as the call for geocachers to help went out I wanted to volunteer, but with my family already planning to attend Camp Jeep it was impossible. Thankfully, we were able to get on the waiting list and then were able to participate. I haven’t had so much fun caching is a while! The people on my team (GO WHITE TEAM!) took to caching with a vengence and we were able to do 20 caches in less than 2 hours, earning 13,000,000 points! We lost to Commander Bob’s red team, but we gave them a run for their money!
Thanks again for such a wonderful experience and come back to do some “real” caching soon!
Sara
Glad some one was able to adopt this one! I will be looking forward to finding once it is up and running again.
