I placed mine this weekend….anyone want to know where?
I MIGHT be willing to adopt it. It is just about an hour from my house (in Madison) and I don’t get that way very often, but it would be doable. If no one else steps up, I will rescue it. Anyone else a little closer?
We did this cache earlier this spring and while I agree it was beautiful, our experience was less enjoyable. That was due entirely to the blasted swarms and clouds of mosquitos! We found it but I have never run to and from a cache so fast in my life! 😆

I really like what they did with that. Makes a lot of sense to make sure that any archived caches actually are missing/picked-up because if they are accidentally discovered and the public panics it could be a publicity nightmare.
Speak of the devil….I got my box last night! Now I just have to figure out where to hide it. Since no others have popped up here in Madison I might just place it somewhere around here. Keep your eyes open!
The only thing I would add is something that I recently ran into (thanks for helping, Tie!). There should also be a provision for neglected caches. If a cache has apparently gone missing but the owner makes no move to check on, repair or disable the cache (in this case since October) then the same procedure should apply. Using disabling of a cache as the trigger for this procedure may not catch all of the caches that need help. Perhaps adding some sort of “reporting” form would work.
This is a fabulous idea that would greatly enhance the sport in our state. Thanks for the hard work!
We will be in the area this weekend and I am hoping to convince my hubby to stop. Can’t wait to find them!
I am still waiting patiently (sort of) for my cache materials to arrive! I ordered them 6/20 and was assured they were on the way. Will give them another few days and then maybe contact to ask if they sent it or not.
I was right! The cache was there but it took some time to find it. Thanks for the hints….or non-hints….I figured it out either way.

I think I got it! I tried “translating” it another way and finally found something that made sense. Have my “hotline” going to check on it right now…..will have to see if they come up with anything.
Yup, that’s the cache I was talking about specifically. It looks like it is going to probably be archived, but that would open the area up to a new cache. I am thinking about trying to place a new cache there since it is such a fabulous area. Will do a little scouting this weekend and figure some things out.
Yippee! Wonder if they are going to be releasing them in conjunction with the Camp Jeep that will be held here in Wisconsin this year….we are going to attend and when signing up for events they have a geocaching workshop. Unfortunately, that workshop has been full since the very first day we could sign up. Makes me wonder if they are going to released them then….
Lost is right….I will be placing one….somewhere. I haven’t received the box yet, so it may take me a while to get it up and running. Hope I can get it by this weekend so that I can hide it over the holiday.
