Rules are rules
This is getting OT and I can’t speak for s|s, but I believe the point is that the guidelines state: “The reviewers use a rule of thumb that caches placed within .10 miles (528 feet or 161 m) of another cache may not be published on the site. This is an arbitrary distance and is just a guideline.”
It is also a guideline that is and has been bent for others.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled “What do you wish you saw on gc.com?” thread…

Or, how about a symbol for, “my final coords are still going to be 70 – 150 feet off from GZ (plus or minus) one you do get that solved.”
We’ve seldom seen any caches that far off. Usually they’re right on the marc.
On the Left Side of the Road...Yes, cheeto, that would be very helpful. We’ve had newer people get stuck on offset WSQs b/c they were looking for a container. So we’ve started to put “offset” in the title.
The problem is offsets are clearly deliniated as multis, but sometimes people (including us) publish them as puzzles, particulary if they are more involved/difficult.
It seems we could really use a traditional multi (w/containers) and an offset multi. Or maybe you could have “Multi,” “Field Solve” and “Mystery”
On the Left Side of the Road...-People who put SOAP in caches. Let’s see…every cache picks up moisture sooner or later…soap SMELLS so animals are interested. Heck, why not jut put some unwrapped beef jerky in it?
-People who post labels on micro logs! Even better is when they’re put sideways on a log so it takes up about half of it. No, really, I love going out and replacing full logs every week or so! 👿

The trail is NOT managed by the DNR but, rather, by Outagamie parks.
Well, as I have recently learned the trail is CURRENTLY managed by the DNR, which means you need the DNR form to start. Supposedly the trail will revert to county control at some future point, but I guess you can’t go wrong with filing the DNR form until you’re told otherwise…

For that you can just sort your puzzles by cache owner.

I do agree with the no smoking ban, but its just another liberty taken away
Remember sweetlife, this is the same group that wants to ban smoking but legalize marijuana 😕
All right, as I think I said before, nothing good comes of discussing religion or politics here, so I’ll shut up now…promise.

And as for making smoking illegal, that’s just stupid.
No need for a personal attack, Lostby7. My point being when we start “banning” legal activities on the basis that they are bad for us, whether it’s smoking or transfats or whatever people come up with, it’s an erosion of liberty. Smoking is still a legal activity that society loves to hate–what would we do without the tax revenue you refer to and want to see raised some more?
But anyway, my views are pretty clear on this, so that’s all I have to say.

Well, Kat, sometimes people have to be told what is for their own good!
Well Marc, that’s sort of the point, isn’t it? Nothing illegal about smoking. If it’s so dang bad, just ban it! But until it is illegal, we have to quit treating smokers like pedophiles.
I mean, what’s next? “No B.O.” ordinances? No unexpected flatulence allowed? We all have a choice to eat or socialize at places that cater to us.
Chip, chip, chip goes liberty.
On the Left Side of the Road...“Why not?” Because groundspeak is too busy putting the kabosh on ALRs and other things that give the game a creative flair to worry about making changes that would actually be useful to the community as a whole. Oh dang, there I go griping again…
Ok, here’s something positive. gc.com is WAAAAAAAY better than the letterboxing SITES. I’m not talking having competing sites with different caches, like gc.com and terracaching.com and Big Bob’s Big Bulletin Board of caches. With letterboxing, you have TWO sites, and the box may be on one or both, which means you have to log twice. Navigation is confusing, forum structure is nonexistent. And to top it off, the sites really, really, really, really, really, really, really suck.
So, compared to letterboxing, gc.com is freakin’ awesome.
On the Left Side of the Road...As long as smoking is still a legal activity, this legislation makes no sense. No one in our household smokes and we avoid places where people do. But that’s the point. It should be left up to businesses and the marketplace to manage this, rather than regulate behavior.
Until government has the guts to make smoking tobacco itself illegal, this is just cowardice on their part. Goverment loves to tax smokers but hates to have them around. You can’t have it both ways!

TENot to gripe 😉 …but I would be happier with “traditional multi” versus “offset multi” icons.
