Welcome! Now there is someone who can put caches in Seymour for US to find! I know a nice trail…

Or, what do you get when you cache? In reference to prizes, money, etc. I guess people still don’t understand the thrill of the hunt.

Geocaching itself is to blame for this by continuing to bill itself as a “high tech treasure hunt.” I guess “high tech tupperware finding and paper signing game” doesn’t quite have the marketing pizzazz.

Well this makes no sense. I can see caches going missing in parks, even ones waiting publication, but in cemeteries? And bison tubes on a wire?

How would anyone even know that they were there? Other than poking your head into every cedar tree in the cemetery.

Any connection to the other “missing” cache we discussed the other day???

    😡

Well, 2009 has been a weird year. Look at it another way, if this were 2008, we wouldn’t have “won” even one month by this point!!!

As I’ve said before, what we like about the LCG is the difficulty/strategy “reward” of the game. I think you “numbers people” can understand. Given limited time, you’ll pass up a four-mile multi in favor of 10 park and grabs to see the stat ticker go up, right?

Since the LCG adds in the D/T factor, the reward is upped for more work. Finding a “20 pointer” is pretty cool. 8) It’s also interesting to take a stab at something that hasn’t been found in some cases for a year or more. “Wow, it’s still here!” Hey, you all understand, you play too.

Now, I do feel a little bad about “winning” four months straight. We do want everyone to know that we’re not trying to “rub it in” or anything.

But that doesn’t mean we’re backing off either! 😀

Just remember folks, you get the ammo can, AND the stamp, AND the log book, AND whatever swag I happen to stuff in the can. I’ll even throw in a pen or pencil, your choice. Heck, I’ll put in both. All shipped via USPS Priority Mail straight to your door.

(Though, if the experience of our January geocoin is any indication, maybe I better go FedEx… 😡 )

Well, the “Letterbox Hybrid in a Box” is all boxed up and ready to be mailed off. Will it be mailed after May?

Hmmmm…lookit all the activity this month. I bet T&B would love to see a certain someone in Eau Claire put it out.

BTW, here’s the stamp. Please remember I’m a writer, not an artist…

People who rehide caches as well as or better than they found them.

People who take full geo-bags with them to repair caches, even when they didn’t break them.

People who tell owners when they break a cache and can’t fix it. 😳

People who suggest that coordinates might be a little squishy, but admit that they might be wrong too rather than writing snippy logs.

Puzzles with a clear path from start to finish that don’t require mind reading.

People who do a good job of moving coins and bugs promptly and logging them properly.

People who choose to hide a big container where one will fit, rather than a micro.

People who bear the expense of buying a quality cache container rather than a tin that will rust or a container that will leak.

People who initial and date a micro log, rather than pull out a stamp or sticker that takes up half the scroll.

Hiders who pass up the chance to put caches in rock piles and micros in pine trees for a better spot.

    Rural cemetery hides.

Good hints when you’ve walked a long time over challenging terrain.

People willing to log DNFs, every time.

    I’m just gettin’ warmed up…

Is there a way to print just one cache listing without filtering out the rest of the DB?

    Our praise is about people:

-People who hide caches. They are the number one thing we are thankful for because without them, there would be no game.
-People who are responsible and maintain the caches they hide.
-People who take the time to write thoughtful logs.
-People who trade up or even.

    That’s just a start… 😀

(P.S.–I like this thread idea, although I also find the gripe thread rather cathartic after some…ahem…frustrations in the field 😡 )

    Here’s my idea.

As soon as the kids are up and dressed, grab the keys, put them in the car, and tell mom “see you at bedtime.”

Somebody who has a over-water conveyance of some sorts and is in the Wausau-ish area can score bookoo points! (Eggcorn alert…)
