Enjoyed your buried cache, thanks for putting it out.
On the Left Side of the Road...No negativity, just my usual smartassery.
On the Left Side of the Road...As many actions over time have shown, the fact that someone is a premium member does not mean they will treat another cache or cacher with any more respect.
About the only advantage I can see to having a PMO cache is to keep the traffic down.
YMMV.

Says right in the cache pages, “if you don’t like easy ones don’t stop here”
Exactly! The popular ones are easy. They’re good for a quick number but they’re not one you’re proud to have done.

On the Left Side of the Road...Yeesh, SL…Nobody said it was a measure of how good a cache is…
On the Left Side of the Road...When every stop sign has a cache, just think how popular geocaching will be. It will be epic, baby!
On the Left Side of the Road...Do what you want, they’re your stats.

Well said but why is there always a race for the ftf then?
Now that is a fantastically good question, particularly since it is an unoffical and meaningless stat.

Speaking of bushwacking to caches without a trail, how tough is your Meadowbrook cache, Gotta Run? That’s on my bucket list for the future when I do an icon run. I already got all the letterbox hybrids at the RF and I think that’s the only letterbox hybrid left in the Green Bay area.
If I’m able to get that one, I’ll be able to get a nice icon run going that day.
It will probably be a bit wet but not too bad of a bushwhack.
Do not approach from the paved trail unless you want to cross the river. Instead enter on the east side of the park and follow the south side of the river.
On the Left Side of the Road...Even if you are caching with just a waypoint, when you get to the parking spot on this cache you clearly see it’s a bit of a walk…outside…you know, in “nature” and all that…where there are bound to be ticks and sticks and thorns and rocks and holes and angry chipmunks and whatnot…
I remember getting a log on one of our caches complaining that the trail was getting overgrown…not sure if people wanted me to go out there with a brush mower or something? I kinda thought the DNR might frown on that. Apparently it never occurred to them that simply turning back was an option too…
Not every cache has a paved path up to it. Just ignore it!
On the Left Side of the Road...Just ignore it. As is proven countless times each day, some people complain about everything and aren’t real good at that whole reading thing. Sounds like a fun cache to me.
Mebbe you could drop them a note telling them there are 20,000 other caches in the state they can look for, and plenty of park and grabs that offer thorn-free and walk-free experiences.

Back on topic, what the op is trying to say – should the DOT’s ban on rest stop caches apply to road sign caches as well? Yeah I think so. Nuff said.
Though Michigan’s DOT allows caches at their rest stops. So far, I’ve found every cache at a rest stop from Menominee to Marquette on US 41 and M-35. I gotta get the ones on US-2 from Escanaba to St. Ignace yet.
Who knows when Michigan will follow Wisconsin’s lead?
Perhaps it should be the other way around. Take back the People’s rest-stops!
No need to go back OT–it was just one man’s opinion/concern based on a obvious trend, but what the hell do I know? And it certainly ain’t a hill I’m gonna die on.
For that matter, there’s plenty of stash-game stuff hidden at rest stops around the state, if you know where to look. (And no I don’t mean hash-stash.) Sometimes ya gotta think outside the geo-box….
