We found about half of them, and of those, most of them were not winter friendly. The letterbox was the most winter-friendly. 😀
I haven’t looked at all the listings to see if an attribute is on there, but I’m guessing it is not, or you probably wouldn’t need to ask the question. So you might check with the cache owners to see what they’d recommend.

Michael, Is that what you’re doing with your souvenirs????? 🙄
No, I’m selling mine on eBay with my unused favorites!
On the Left Side of the Road...It’s an electronic picture you can collect and cherish forever.
On the Left Side of the Road...For now, open the Trend Micro control panel (you should be able to double click on the TM icon in the task bar). Select “Internet and Email controls.” Under “Protection against web threats” click “Settings.”
click “approved websites,” then “Add.” Then add the following:
http://wi-geocaching.com
http://wi-geocaching.com/*That should do it.
On the Left Side of the Road...Yeah, the first one. Someone should probably submit a cache rescue op for that one. Ok, how about me? Done.
On the Left Side of the Road...This particular thread is a long and winding journey, yet particularly relevant given recent news. It is uncommon for most cache owners to have even one of your caches disabled by a reviewer for maintenance issues. Rarer still for a cache to be force archived for ongoing delinquency and noncompliance with multiple entreaties for repair. So if ten of your 13 owned caches are archived for those reasons, don’t expect the goecommunity to kiss your feet if you decide to toss a few new caches into the shrubbery before disappearing again for months on end.
On the Left Side of the Road...In case ya didn’t notice, one of the caches that initiated this thread was recently force-archived. But at least the local geocommunity didn’t have to go pick up the geo-litter (this time, anyway)…
On the Left Side of the Road...Bump…better late than never…
On the Left Side of the Road...Careful Jim or you’ll find some of your logs suddenly deleted…
On the Left Side of the Road...Hey I think this is great news. Just think of all the new caches that we can rescue for the LCG once they’re archived in about a year for lack of maintenance.
On the Left Side of the Road...You have got to be kidding me…
On the Left Side of the Road...Yes, but my point is that they are eliminating photos because they are an ALR.
Well, completing educational tasks and emailing answers to COs are ALRs too!
So, they are picking and choosing how to apply these “guidelines,” which is of course their right as the website owner. But it really illustrates a larger pattern of behavior on the part of groundspeak as it relates to cache owners and cache creativity.
On the Left Side of the Road...Careful, Alex, before someone starts accusing you of piling on again 🙄
Well, I’ve made my opinions on solving puzzles well-known in these forums, but this is a case where my #1 advice (contacting the CO) will, in fact, get you nowhere. And this particular puzzle is, in my opinion, a bit confusing from a write-up standpoint. Also, it involves a big dose of Appleton Geocaching Math, which is unlike regular math in that the rules of algebra do not apply.
So I have dug through my notes and, rather than give a spoiler, let me instead try to clarify the puzzle instructions:
A = the answer you find for 1
B = the answer you find for 2
C = the answer you find for 3, minus 2. My notes say there is conflicting information about the length of the song. You might need to do some checker slamming….
D = The answer you find for 4, minus 3
E = The answwer you find for 5, minus 2.
F = Add the three digits of the number you found together and add one to that total
G. Add the four numbers from the license place together and subtract nine from that total
H. Add the three digits in the number of pages together
I. Ignore the numbers after the decimal place, and do not round. Add the three digits of the numbers of miles together and subtract 14 from that total.
J. You should come up with the year 198X. Subtract two years from X.On the Left Side of the Road...So now earthcache photos are considered an ALR?
All EarthCaches must conform to this guideline as photo requests are considered “additional logging requirements” (ALRs) and follow the guidelines set forth by Geocaching.com.
Existing EarthCaches that do not meet this guideline must be updated to comply. What a load of crap. I’m sorry but if EarthCaches were truly meant to “follow the guidelines set forth by Geocaching.com” they would be forced to have an actual cache container and a log to sign.
I’m more convinced than ever that archiving our earthcaches was the right decision. Between the bother of following up on requirements and dealing with complaints about our earthcaches (in this venue nonetheless), it ain’t worth it!
On the Left Side of the Road...I don’t like the idea. What keeps thisgame and community what it is, is that it is noncompetitive. No one really keeps track of geo-accomplishments comparatively, LCG and FTP stats notwithstanding 😉 . Having a hall of fame, even if it’s just semi-serious, runs counter to that and, let’s face it, there are some egos out there that don’t need any more inflating.
Just my 2 cents, your mileage may vary, etc. etc. etc.
