It appears they deprectated some HTML, in particular the
code. It’s still in the long descriptions of my caches, but the line is gone.
Also they made the description windows in the edit/create cache page section much smaller and it’s unaffected by sizing as far as I can tell. Maybe they want to encourage shorter cache descriptions! Not a big deal assuming you write your descriptions in an editor elsewhere and paste them in there, but it is much harder to work with and edit using that window.

Think I should pick up some of those lightweight trekking poles? I’ve seen pictures of folks using these during these winter hikes. Do they seem to help or are they more of a burden?
My 2 cents, they are very handy for when you fall down, but a burden for walking otherwise as they’re one more thing to carry and get caught up in stuff more than they help. And since there will be plenty of people around to help you back up….

The terrain on this cache was reduced to a 4 sometime between yesterday AM when I set out and PM when I posted my log! I’ve only done a handful of terrain 4 or harder but this was by far the hardest. Bummer. I’m still glad I went but that just doesn’t seem right. Has this happened to any of you?
Sometimes a nicely worded note to the cache page expressing disappointment will get it moved back. 😀
Also some owners seem to think there is merit to continually changing D/T ratings as the seasons and conditions change (i.e., “I’m changing this from a 5 to a 2 because you can walk across the ice now), but this makes no sense because the ratings are not fixed in time to your find date (which gets to cheetos fizzy challenge conundrum)
On the Left Side of the Road...Seems to require more scrolling around…probably because I have my monitor set to “Blind” resulting in line breaks. But I’ll get used to it. No big whoop.
On the Left Side of the Road...Having been on the receiving end of having hides spoiled in these forums, I can empathize with the concern. However, it’s clearly obvious TBC was joking with you which, around here, is a way of trying to make you feel welcome. Cedar trees really are an inside joke. It’s like saying a new Appleton cache is in a pine tree.
So, I would encourage you to look at those comments in that light, and you will also need to grow thicker skin if you are going to be a cache owner.
On the Left Side of the Road...I’m out. 🙁 Have fun!
On the Left Side of the Road...Looking back, this topic should probably be moved to the “suggestion box” area. It’s not really a question. Could the admin do this?

We currently have a Community Education Committee, which is charged with both handling these “come put on a geocaching demonstration” requests and also dealing with parks departments, police departments, etc. I think this structure is too much for one committee and should be split.
This jogged my memory and I recall that I was asked to be on this committee, and when I look at the list of motions passed by the BOD last April, I see I am actually on it! 😯 I had forgotten about this and have never been contacted to do anything, perhaps because there has been no need in my area. Volunteers apparently also do not have access to the Community Education forum, or at least I can’t get in there.
So I guess although I understand the mission I’m not really sure what this committee does or whether my suggestion might be redundant.

The deer trails are narrow, and the cattails are thick for the last .2 miles.
I’m worried the shoes will get hung up on these. Thoughts?
Yes, the outing is still under consideration. I need to figure out how much it will….cost me, if ya get my drift………..

’cause guardrails just don’t lend themselves to a group hunt.
Unless you’re trying to find 400+ caches in 24 hours…

Or finding something, that only a handful have or will (i.e. Cat Island)
Cat Island is a future lonely cache for sure!!!!
But at least it’s pretty certain that this one will stay in place to be found, right?

Did ya tell her about the hot coco w/ mini mashmellos? I would think that be the deal maker!
Only if she drops me off and drives over to the outlet mall for 2 hours…hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
On the Left Side of the Road...In all seriousness I am “out” for this one. Weekends are family time and if we go caching it has to be reasonably family friendly…though the kids do like snowshoeing…and I’ve taken them through some real crap already…but I am afraid to even mention this idea to the better half!!!!
You wanna go WHERE???? 😯
On the Left Side of the Road...That adds a wee bit to the walk. I am not taking the Sebring in the snow this season. 😳
On the Left Side of the Road...Yeah…just combine the sarcastic voice with wrong choices…
“You want to cross the creek? Ok, I’m sure it’s frozen enough to hold you.”
“Want to look for the nano under that park bench? You’ll need to take your gloves off but I’m sure you won’t get frostbite.”
“You found the micro but there’s a logsicle inside.”
and the ever-popular,
“Start digging!”
On the Left Side of the Road...Depends…what’ll be in the hot chocolate?
