This one is not an Island Cache. Access is only available by National Forest Land, if bushwacking, or by boat from the Oconto River after having put in at a public access up river. Even if the river were frozen over you would need to trespass on private property in order to cross it from the shortest route possible.
Yes, that’s why that one was never on the bookmark list.

You got that right! But that’s as it should be, provides more encourgement to new players…especially those with a penchant for solving puzzles in the Appleton area…

On the Left Side of the Road...Ok, there are 70+ caches on the list.
Not all of them are suitable for winter finds but I believe all of them are “islands.”
The list does not include caches that you might need a boat for but are not on islands (i.e., shoreline), islands that have foot access or public transportation, or marsh/swamp caches. Just trying to keep it a tightly focused list. Hope it’s useful.

Anyway it’s a nice assortment and the price is right.
On the Left Side of the Road...My thinking is that this is an inclusive “island” cache bookmark, not limited to islands that may be safe to approach in winter.

On the Left Side of the Road...I’ve added the above caches to the ever-growing bookmark.
Running a PQ was not that productive. The only relevant PQ parameters I could think of were “Wisconsin” and “boat.”
I also filtered out everything under terrain 2.5. I know there are probably some boat caches that are under T2.5, but oh well.
But, that pulls up a mess of caches that aren’t island caches, or even solely water-access caches for that matter (i.e., Creation Cache – GCRG10). I’m guessing the ones here with “island” in the title are a safe bet. Perhaps a review of what came up will prompt some memories.

This is obviously just a start. I know I’m missing a whole mess of caches in Wausau including the Cats Can Swim series. I did not add the Madison cache because its a puzzle so bookmarking it as an island cache may give too much away.
I will say that our “Osprey Island” cache has seen lots of activity in the past few days! As cheeto says, definitely do NOT try Oasis, or “Cat Island Chain” for that matter. Keep in mind, the ice is never “safe.”
