Newbie cachers can be excused to a certain extent, although they are still faced with the big “Are you SURE you want to do this?” screen before they submit the log. Even so, I’m not sure if they understand what a PITA it is when there is nothing wrong with the cache.

Regarding experienced cachers…well, you either have common courtesy or you don’t. Some people are just too proud to ever admit that they simply couldn’t find a cache, so resort to NM, SBA, or just generally snotty logs. Those people can kiss my big shiny hiney and really should stick to a hobby that is less personally stressful.

When you find a “replacement” cache that was put out without your permission, the solution is simple–delete the logs of those signed in there because they didn’t find your cache. They found A cache, but not yours.

You are correct that this was not explicitly stated. My apologies.

I am well aware that the BOD is not the entire WGA, but they do represent it. Please note that my original post clearly distinguishes the two. And yes, it is good in this case that local geocachers picked up the ball and ran with it to help make the event a success.

But here we have a case where a WGA member is apparently unhappy with the OFFICIAL response of the WGA. Yet, rather than ask “What could we do better,” we get blame-shifting to the requestor!!!

    That’s just truly unfortunate.

Edit: Ah never mind, I had something else to add but it would really be pointless.

Apparently the OP does not concur.

Wonder why not? Seems just the sort of thing we have an association and a board of directors for.

Having gone thru the demo on the Oregon (well, trying to go thru the demo, never finished it), I think this is something the kids would take to, but I have no interest or inclination in programming one.

No, if it were he’d only be holding some Google map printouts. 😈

Interesting stuff. I’m guessing this is similiar equipment to what high-tech farmers use for planting. Though I’m not sure about that portable desktop-thingy.

Thanks everyone! This cache was a tough one but is doable. It does help if you are seldom|seen-sized and can temporarily suspend your fear of dying.

We find caches with wrong coordinates all the time. Usually they’re placed with an iPhone. 😈
