Live 😯 , Laugh 😆 , Love 😳 , Learn 😛 , Geocache 🙄 , Repeat 😉 !
Of course for those of you that like to do drive ups, 😛 and you’re the driver and don’t want to get out of the car, this car might come in very handy.
Well the 2003 Taurus that I drive is well on it’s way to 110,000. 😯 When it dies (not soon I hope) I want to replace it with this handy dandy car. Check it out… bet I’m not the only one that wants one! 😉
WOW! 😯 How cool is that! 8) I’m honored to have you reach a big milestone at one of my caches. Keep on caching! 😉
I believe each of these (and geocaching and EarthCaching) are all about the journey, not necessarily about the destination. Really we all “play the game” in our own personal style. 😉
I’ve done the webcam thing a few times. Hard to get someone to be at a computer to capture the image sometimes. Once I wasn’t tall enough and only the top of my head was captured (Pt Washington) so I didn’t count it. Many times the darn webcams just aren’t cooperating! 😥
I have found a few benchmarks, but they haven’t been loggable. I don’t go out of my way for those. 😕
I LOVED 😛 Locationless finds and was extremely upset when they were taken from the site and put on waymarking. I tried that site, but didn’t like the way it worked so stopped going to it.
I attended a Wherigo Event in Chicago last blustery winter with AuntieNae and the Tapps. We went on an adventure and I found it interesting. I know we now have one wherigo cache in WI and look forward to trying it. 8)
How about 09-09-09 at 9 am.
Committees are a GR8 way to get things done! Do we have the right committees to revitalize, or do we need a set of new ones? Before we can answer that question I think we need to get input from the majority of the members of WGA, and encourage others to join.
Earthcaches are a terrific way to learn about and experience the world we live in. I have done a number of them, in WI and in other states. I truly enjoy doing them. I have plans 😕 for three EarthCaches in the works (pics and coords) and looking for the geological info. There are a number of EarthCaches I will never get the chance to visit due to physical limitations, but i will still attempt to get close and enjoy as much of the journey as possible. I was disappointed 🙁 when EarthCaches were taken off of Geocaching.com and am very glad that they have returned. 😀
Ah yes… Wild parsnip. Ask AuntieNae about her run in with the stuff! 😆 I was on the phone with her when she experienced it – and was madly searching online to find a “cure” for it. 🙄
01/21/2009 at 3:18 am in reply to: Fun ?..A day caching with (candidate) would be a day of….. #1900752What a GR8 idea – the two of us out caching. 😮 Lately, I’ve been intriqued by EarthCaches, so try to pick one that I can do and then choose regular caches in the area. I like to mix it up and keep the day interesting by doing regulars and micros as well as doing rural and urban caches. I go to the cache prepared to replace a container, or log and baggie, and restock the cache with goodies so “kids of all ages” will have something to choose from. Starting early in the day, we’ll move at a comfortable pace, enjoy the scenery, take lots of pictures and have alot of laughs. We might have to do a “phone a friend” when stumped at a cache and will probably be called for assistance from someone else. 🙄 I like to try local eateries after a day of caching and will even try to fit in a cache or two after eating, with flashlight in hand. It’s not about the numbers however I do recognize the milestones. We’ll make plans for another day of caching in the near future, maybe a day of puzzle caches we’ve solved or a few multi’s. No matter what, it will be a GR8 day!
1) Give me one reason to that I should vote for you?
I’m a fresh face with new ideas and tons of energy to go the distance with the issues placed before the board.
2) You have 1 vote and can not vote for yourself, who is your one vote cast for and why?
I’d have to say, hands down, my vote would go to Renee aka AuntieNae. She has a foot inside the cacher side and the other foot inside the parks, land management side. Renee brings experience that others do not have. She “keeps it real”!
3) What can you do to bring the disgruntled members back to the WGA?
Listen! Find out what has them disgruntled. Look at the issue from all sides and help them to see the other sides too. Usually people are disgruntled due to miscommunication and misunderstanding or the feeling of being powerless or disconnected. I’m a good listener and problem solver as well as persistent.
What experience do you have dealing with governments, agencies and land managers?
Up to this point I have had very little first hand contact with agents and land managers. It’s not that I couldn’t, I’ve just not had reason to. I know that I am capable of begining and maintaining open communication with these individuals. Just last year I hosted Governor Doyle, several Senators and several Representatives of our state, in my classroom when an announcement was made regarding the state budget and Milwaukee Public Schools. It was an honor and a priviledge to have them visit my classroom and include my students in their presentation. 😀
I will begin by saying that I want to give back to a community that has given much to me. I feel I have another perspective to bring to the Board when considering different items on the agenda. I am an older cacher with physical limitations that affect the way I look at events and caches. I will well represent those cachers in the same situation, as I believe they have been somewhat invisible when planning events in the past.
I know that I will work to encourage new cachers to join our organization and be active members. I have the energy, ideas and momentum to start things and keep them moving at a comfortable pace.
I don’t think that splitting up into regions is a good idea. I think we have something good going on here in WI and with a little hard work and persistance we could have something GR8, with the whole state on board. I’m one that believes there is strength in numbers so lets keep it together. 😛
Thanks for the heads up! I’m saving the date on my calendar – just in case! 😕
