Hello –
Mapping bulletin boards went up this week at school for our +/- 60 TB’s which are in England, CA, TN, MO, IL, IN, KY, WI, etc. Students not only use map pins to track their TB’s, they also will research and report on some of the locales. Four of our TB’s got swiped when a cache got muggled, they had 8.7 miles on them… and 2 more are shaky due to a disabled cache and an owner who moved across MO and hasn’t been answering his email. About 10 or 12 are stalled in caches in WI, but overall, most are moving around quite a bit. The last 5 or 6 kids who are behind should get their TB’s released this week, probably in our Seton’s St. M-M T.B. Retreat, behind the Catholic church cache here in Waupaca. Com Arts writing assignments associated with the TB’s are beginning this week.
We have also formed partnerships with schools in Saskatewan, Canada and St Louis, MO. Our kids will be swapping caching adventure stories as the year goes on.
A big thank you to the several cachers, caching teams, and families who went out of their way to post terrific logs and pictures, and put lots of extra effort in to getting these TB’s on their way into GeoWorld. This has been a great project which continues to generate a lot of excitement in our students. It has provided a central theme which has crossed curriculums in com arts, science, and computer ed.

Ours would have to be the two in Hartman Creek State Park. Before shutting down the computer as we were getting ready for a week of vacation, I just had to check GC.com. What do you know, two new caches right in our neighborhood. Gram rolled her eyes as our son & I jumped into the truck to race off to the park. We got them both, and got home in time to leave on vacation as scheduled.
I still don’t know why my wife thinks I am addicted…

We have put out a new TB cache ( GC17508 ), “Seton’s St. M-M Travel Bug Retreat”, in the outskirts of Waupaca. It has quite a few of our school kids TB’s, as well as several others traded by the first couple of finders.
If you are in the area, it has very easy and quick access from Hwy 10, 22, and 54. Stop by and help move some of our TBs!
Thanks a lot!

Bounce…
Well, we have a few TB’s in CA and in St. Louis, some scattered around WI, but there are still a lot sitting in the Fox Valley. Come and get ’em – look in Seton’s Eagle Nest at Hwy 10 & 76 (5 miles west of Hwy 41), or in Bear Bears TB rest stop north of Appleton on Hwy 41.
Thanks to Beasr Bear, Giz, and Sweetlife for moving some out for us!

Sue Eilers, the author of the letter of thanks, also writes an article each week in our local paper, the Waupaca County Post. A recent article features the WGA and the GPS donation. The article is similar to her letter, and is accompanied by a photo of Brian and Butch Siegel, the volunteer Sue mentions.
All in all, pretty good P.R. for the WGA and GeoCaching in general in the Waupaca area. Thank you from happy Waupaca cachers!

A hotel weekend sounds like a lot of fun in mid-winter. Forget about black tie, tho!

Our school TB’s are trickling out to various points. A big THANK YOU to several cachers who’ve gone out of their way already in support of this project.
A final release of about 20 will occur around the middle of this week.
BTW, Gram & I will be heading to St. Louis next weekend. We’ll have a few school TB’s with us to turn loose down there, but if anybody else has any which want to see the big arch, we’d be glad to carry them along, too.

Just bouncing this one up, lotsa TB’s to move out so we can release some more…
Thanks a lot.

OK, thanks.
I do not have my heart set on any particular course of action. I appreciate everybody’s input!
BTW, ADD = All Done Dancing.

I have a multi cache which I have disabled due to continuing vandalism. I’d like to change the listing from a multi, and leave the final in place as an individual standalone cache. The final has survived muggling since we relocated it awhile back.
It does not look like I can edit this much on the cache listing. Will I need to disable the whole multi and then re-do the listing and re-submit it for approval?
The other legs of the multi will be removed. At this point I do not know if they will be moved a bit and converted to individual caches or not. We have not had very good luck with them staying in good shape.
Thanks, Grandpa Jim
The TB’s are placed and logged in to the Seton’s Eagle Nest cache – GC13EA5. This is an easily accessible cache along Highway 10 at Hwy 76, just a few miles west of Hwy 41.
Info sheets are packaged with each TB, so check the wide variety of missions. Some are generic ‘travel around the USA’ types, but others are rather specific about going someplace particular.
Thanks a lot. There will be another 2 or 3 releases coming up, so it would be great to get these moving and make some room in the cache for more!

I have had a similar experience with Garmin customer service as Bear Bear. I was very impressed with them replacing a $79.00 yellow etrex which had a worn out rubber band and torn out page button cover. Much better than what we get on our cars which cost a lot more…
I’ve never used anything but Garmins, but they’ve certainly won me as a customer for life.

Well, our Jones Springs Multi Cache is disabled now. The new first stage lasted only a couple of weeks. A GeoCacher found it this past weekend, and reported everything inside soaked, and holes poked in the plastic container. The log book and other papers were placed packed in baggies, apparently no longer are, so somebody went to some effort to vandalize it.
The Forest Service would not do this – they’d grab the whole thing, haul it off to HQ, and contact somebody if they did not like it being there. But I’ve checked and there are no restrictions.
I recently read of another cache not far from this one which had a bag of feces left inside the ammo box. I guess there are some misfits in northern Oconto County who don’t like GeoCaching…
Not sure yet what we’ll do. Probably at least some of this multi will be pulled out, maybe one or two legs will be converted to individual caches. But they’ll get pulled too if this continues.
Is northern Oconto County part of the NE or NCentral WI forum? I thought I knew where to look, but couldn’t find that info when I last checked…
