Interesting read after several pages of postings. Here’s my take on some of what I read…
A theme of 7 for next year is good idea… perhaps combining 007 with lucky 7; after all Bond spent good deal of time in casinos.
There should be several pre- and post-bash events for attendees to choose to go to one or more. Stuffing 500+ people in a bar is not my idea of fun! And not very family friendly.
Good variety of cache hides… especially liked the Eisenbaum hides ( mostly because they were geared to all ages and abilities)… and at age 66 my tree climbing days are over 😥
No problem with archiving older hides and placing new caches… the practice of doing so keeps the game fresh.
And as 6th year vet… I must say the weather was exceptionally great this year… Mother Nature loves WBCB.

Come on people. . . Just be the driver and send the passenger out to make the grab. Easy, Peasy! 🙂
Wayne… that’s my method of keeping fingers from freezing! Good minds think alike.
Remember the Y2K scare… computers were not going to work. ‘Nuf said. BTW it’s Mayan.
Congrats on 1500!
In addition to the numerous tools mentioned by previous posters… cache with a buddy who is either tall and/or willing to climb a tree 😉

All you have to do is file for permission. It’s not hard
Slight correction: It is a notification form – not a request for permission.

It is simply filling out the necessary notification form and submitting to proper DNR office that manages the specific area… for each cache placed along the trail.
I filled out 7 separate forms for the ones I placed on the Hank Aaron trail. And before placing I emailed the 2 other cache owners who had previously placed caches along the trail asking if they had plans to extend their hides along the section I planned on placing my caches.
Update… Garmin responded via email(on today…Sunday) to follow a procedure for non-prompted master reset. So much fun holding 3 buttons down along with the power switch… a bit tricky for me with arthritic hand… but I finally got the unit powered on. Now to set up menu, etc the way I had it.
YIPEE… back on the trails.
Thanks Averith… I had contemplated going with a Magellan prior to buying the MAP62… but didn’t.
I’m calling Garmin support on Monday to followup my email on Friday after several failed attempts to perform a master reset.
Looking back a bit from last weekend I remember that twice the device failed to bring up the description for at least two caches in the Green Bay area… it basically froze the unit and I took out the batteries to reboot.
As for too much data… I have always eliminated the previous cache file before loading a new one.
Thanks for the suggestions. I’m going to try loading a small PQ to see if that corrects issue.
BTW… I went ahead and went through Garmin’s instructions to perform a master reset. HA! When the question comes up in screen “Do you really want to erase all user data?”… I was unable to arrow up to the Yes field and the device shut down. Tried the steps 3 times! I just emailed Garmin again… and told them this issue has never happened in the 4 years with my other two Garmins.
Thanks for the update beccaday. Just as soon as my nose unstuffs and I’ve solved my issue with my Map62 I hope to “encourage” one of my caching friends to go after this multi.

I think that we need ‘proof of loss’ to make sure this is not rigged to claim the prize!
He was a cute looking TB.
Please Wayne… let’s not speak in past tense: “he was” LOL

Granny, I lost your racer. See the note I posted on the TB’s page. There is a chance that a cacher will find it but I feel horrible. So sorry.
Guess I’m sorry I didn’t see your first post asking for preference of placement.
My first comment when I read email was: “blank”
After I heard this multi is a 3-mile hike…
My second comment was: nice job sabotaging the TB placing in a Ranger Boy cache… which was likely to hold up movement for at least 5 months.
My third comment: oh well… if it was dropped maybe a cacher will find it before it snows. Or some kid will find a really cute “toy”.Did WGA mention a “first to go lost” prize???
Averith… your racer is in De Pere… and I’ve asked my son jedimastersWI to keep an eye on the cache to see if the TB gets stuck there. He lives less than a mile from the cache 😉
I’m with Northwoods Tom… wondering why someone gets banned?
I’m not curious enough to explore other sites… my guess is they have little activity from major portion of cachers. I like GC
